Hair algae - is the Fluval Ebi light too much?

Ady, Thanks again for the Reply Mate, as for what u said, yes I do dose 6ml of carbonated water every morning, I also do this as well as the LC every three days.. Do u suggest I continue the 6ml carbonated water but take on the 2ml LC daily also? Maybe I shouldn't use carbonated water on the...

Hair algae - is the Fluval Ebi light too much?

Sorry Ady, I guess I have never experienced problems with this before, Are you suggesting smaller amounts daily? So if you were initially dosing 6ml a week you would do 1ml a day with a break period on another day? I guess I have never done this before. I do 6ml every 3 days on a guess. With a...

Hair algae - is the Fluval Ebi light too much?

I'm not sure if u wanna be doing it every day, it would ultimately cost far to much in the long run. I use it once or 2ce a week..but I guess this is preference. It all depends on your overall tank balance bud. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Hair algae - is the Fluval Ebi light too much?

Or get a lower wattage light and add easy carbo ;-) 3 hours is silly so just reduce the light wattage, eventually u can build it back up too. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Long term Algae problem Resolved :)

I wouldn't either bother with the black out..just concentrate on WC's and cleans and you be fine reduce your lighting for a couple weeks. Viola Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Long term Algae problem Resolved :)

First concentrate on solving the issue with the above advice. Once it's gone, increase your plant mass and get hold of some TPN+ there are other u could use if u prefer not to. this will provide the nutrients your tank needs. Do remember once the issue is gone, continue to keep a healthy level...

Long term Algae problem Resolved :)

Well the first thing I would suggest is doing a minimun of 50 percent water change asap and then keep doing that 2ce a week at least for a couple weeks. If it's one t8 tube I can't see you light being a problem, I'm assuming it's not more than 40w but for this purpose reduce it down to 6 hours...

Long term Algae problem Resolved :)

Basically this could go on for and endless amount of time but to save time we need a tank spec. All algae is caused by, poor flow distribution, too high light, non frequent water changes, lack of maintenance, lack of co2. These are the main issues when looking at algae blooms. If we could have a...

    Brown Algae

Go for it! Things are good when we aim to plant 60-80 percent of our tanks :-) I don't actually know why we only stop at 80 percent! I just read that in a dennerle book :-) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

What is this gunk on my wood?

Dont worry guys, i can give you some sort of assurance as not to worry. I started a new tank from scratch with wood scape and got the same thing, after 3-4 weeks it completely went. now about 4-5 months old my wood is gleaming. If you worried about nitrite levels regardless of tests I would...

    HELP!!! BGA Issues

Check out the zebra ottos their beautiful. I think the trick is to learn how to control your lighting. Once this is mastered you can control your tank. Flow, lighting and water quality all boil down to the consequences of algae blooms. Stick it out.. It won't hang around once you crack it :-)...

Algae and java moss won't grow

Re: Algae and java moss won't grow so true, I have had some weeping moss that was almost dead, attached to some wood in my jungle nano. It had been in there for almost 6-8 weeks doing nothing and this weekend i was about to take it all out and bin it but I can see bright green runners coming...

Algae and java moss won't grow

Re: Algae and java moss won't grow there is no need for your co2 to be on when your lights are off, this wont achieve anything and is just a waste of co2 and money :( as for your algae some correct me if im wrong but co2 does not in any way affect algae growth, if anything its due to to much...
