    Cory laying on side, dying?

last WC was a week ago, ill try sticking an air pump in, thanks for for your help and comments Lats i also found it difficult to rescape because im heavily stocked on fish but if you buy a perspex 100L box from ikea and fill it with water and a bit of substrate you can transfer your fish to...

    Cory laying on side, dying?

Sure, i'll take any advice. When i re did the tank i had only the substrate and water in for about a month, well over the recommended 3 weeks, so it won't be that. Check this thread, this was back in July. I don't think it had an infection, i'm pretty sure this cory also died for same reasons...

    Cory laying on side, dying?

Sorry mate my reply looked defensive, i was just putting my thoughts down on paper like you. I agree, if CO2 was a problem the other fish would be affected and the drop checker would also help indicating this. I note no abnormalities apart from the obvious on the 2 affected corys. I had a good...

    Cory laying on side, dying?

Yes i always cut off half a cube and leave it out for half hour to defrost and then chuck them in a bit at a time. The sterbai has now died, that's the quickest i've seen a cory deteriorate it took roughly 1-2 hours. The adolfo has since moved but is still upside down, thankfully still...

    Cory laying on side, dying?

I have 2 adolfo and 2 sterbai corys which have been in my tank for about 6 months, it's well established and all parameters are fine. Last night i fed the tank frozen bloodworm. Today 1 adolfo is upside down laying on the substrate, it occasionally moves but has now come to rest between some...

    Harlequins playing dead

During a water change about 3 weeks ago something very weird happened. I usually siphon out 4-5 buckets of water which is roughly 35-45% of the water. After i siphoned out the 5th bucket 3 out of the 6 harlequins immediately and simultaneously turned upside down and laid on the substrate. I've...

    Adolfoi Cory losing colour

Water is fine and havent seen any fish picking on them at all, my tank generally gets on very well with each other, the gouramis also hang with the corys and the rasboras are happy scholing. I haven't touched the water with any treatment as everything else is fine, maybe he just had an under...

    Adolfoi Cory losing colour

Over the past few weeks my adolfoi has been losing its black colouring around one of its eyes. It's got to the point now where there is no colour at all around one eye, he's become very lethargic and stays still usually hidden for long periods of time. I have seen him eating occasionally and...

    Otto disappeared

Kris youre right, thought i'd have another look and pulled the sofa out, found 1 very stiff otto underneath the cupboard. It must have jumped out and then hopped about the floor which is why i didn't find it the first time, such a shame! Thinking now whether to put the cube otto into the main...

    Otto disappeared

Hi guys Impulse bought 6 Ottos on Wednesday at the LFS, 4 for the main tank and 2 for the cube. The 4 in the main are doing absolutely fine, all have been observed to move about and eat algae and rasp on different plants and tank sides. The cube is a lot different. At first both swam around...

    Gourami's

Went with 3x golden honeys, 1 male and 2 females. They are already finding their favourite hiding spots. I did notice though they have started to tear off some of my cabomba leaves, can't tell whether they're eating them or not but they keep tugging at them; it may even be algae on the leaves...

    Gourami's

Hi guys Still been pondering over which fish to keep in my community tank and was thinking of getting one or two gourami's, either pearl or dwarf due to their small size and colourful patterns. I know they both will fit well in a community tank, they are hardy and also don't bully small fish or...
