Its post mechanical filter, but pre biological... The exisiting pre filter clogs quickly, and I need to clean once a week...that is why I am seeking for a larger unit hence this thread as cabinet space is premium. Should I remove the filter floss, or look for a larger pump?
Good point, but I can fit and probably will fit it after a large pre filter containing course and media filter mat and filter floss. This is the reason I need it on the inlet side so I can fit a larger prefilter.
Due to the layout of my cabinet I want to connect my CEG CO2 reactor to the inlet side of my Eheim external filter rather than the outlet side.
Is there any detrimental effect of doing this, is it less effective at "holding" the CO2 in the water?
Just to clarify, if fitting the needle valve to the regulator this will be a direct fitting without any piping. The reason I ask is that my solenoid output can only accept a pipe so I cannot fit the needle valve directly to it as I would prefer.
I know it is the general practice to pleace the Co2 solenoid beteen the regulator and needle valve, but is ther any reason or problem with fitting it after the needle valve (on the low pressure side) and fitting the needle valve directly to the regulator?
Hi ian_m
The hose fitting should not present a problem as I am hoping to remove the tails and fit directly to to regulator. Failing that, I am sure I can get the 4mm tubing to fit.
I have in fact ordered one with the 230V AC to use with my timer.
The lugs appear to use the same connector as...
My current CO2 soleniod is fitten between my regulator and needle valve.
Is this the recommend location, or can the solenoid be fitted after the needle valve.
The reason I ask is because the replacement solenoid comes with hose tails and I am not sure it will have the same screw fitting to fit...
My Aquamedic Pulse solenoid has died on me and I am looking for a replacement.
I have come across Welding solenoid like this

And was wondering if it would be suitable as they are much cheaper that aquarium specific

I am currently running an FE setup with the D-D disposible bottle regulator and converter.
I cannot seem to adjust the regulator anymore to keep the pressure down to 1 bar.
I am looking to replace the regulator and would like peoples opinion on the below regulator. it seems very cheap, and...
I too have a D&D regulator and was planning to use a FE. What most people may not understand is that there is NO nut on the regulator. the screw thread is tapped directly into the regulator body. Even when using the adaptor to convert from disposible to refillable bottle, it will still require...
