And this is the tank this week. things are starting to stabilise and I am getting some new growth. this will be a slow grower which is what I wanted.

Well I got all the equipment moved and the new tank planted. I still have some jobs to do, Finish removing the old tank Tidy up the new tank Remove the weights and cable ties from the wood. anyway here is the full tank shot, I will add more once I have had time to take them.

Re: Russ's 60cm Optiwhite "Pebble Beach" aqua soil leaches amonia into the water, you need to wait for the levels to drop to 0 then it is safe to add fish etc, my 60L took about 1.5 weeks to drop.

i was just looking at the reccomended light levels in the tropica book and the anubias are the only plants that dont have a high light dot!!

it has been a verry long time since i did an update on this tank so here is the latest pic taken this morning after its trim,

any low carpeting plant will be higher maintance. you should be ok to just cap your existing substrate and it should have some of its nutrients still, you could boost it with tropica root tabs if you wanted. i love crypts they are easy to grow and look good dont grow too large try something...

all the rock is pushed through the substraight to the bottom of the tank. i have also positioned them so they shouldnt fall verry far if they do manage to knock them over.

I have my lights come on at 8 and go off at 5 so i have 9 hours, i might change the on and off times so i get to see the tank for longer with the lights on.

there are isttructions on the bottle i think it is 5ml per 50l of water per week so with out co2 i would reduce this slightley to about 5ml per 60-70l of water. someone else may correct me but from what i have lerned this is what i would do.

i use a small syringe so i can put under 1ml of fert into my tank is realy easy and fast.

Re: Matts 60L Jungle Edge there is only one tube in the light so i cant reduce the intencity and the light is a bit cheep there isnt a option to hang it above tha tank :( so it will have to stay like that for now it is only a 24w!! :crazy: i will be changing this soon to an arcadia unit...
