    Please help

Hi guys, @PlantedBows - thanks for the the reply. yes for the picture the light is on high. Im going to bring it down to 6 hours on low. It's so irritating as it's making the glosso grow leggy and the overall growth of the plants very slow for a high tech tank. This is my 1st experience with...

hey. im new and in need of sum help.

https://www.thenutrientcompany.com/product/tnc-complete/ Dosage would be 1ml per 10litres per week. So 40ml per week. It would be good to add this also https://www.thenutrientcompany.com/product/tnc-carbon/ That dose is 1ml per 50 litres per day. So 4ml per day. Start low. For the first...

hey. im new and in need of sum help.

Sounds like a good plan. The plant you have back left looks like 'Java fern' is that pushed into the gravel? If so you want to pull it out as the roots are not ment to be buried. instead tie it to a rock. With a tank this size I'd just look at ordered a good few portions of quick growing...

Hi Jamielegge welcome to the forum The tanks looks really good, have a look through the forum and see what plants people have in there tanks or on websites under the easy to grow sections and just grab a few different types. Dot them and around and see how you get on. The basics are; •10x...

Hair algae - is the Fluval Ebi light too much?

The light is really bright. I have an 18w thats half as bright as the fluval I sold. Mate 3 hours your never gonna get time to admire the tank, treat yourself to co2. Whats LPH on the filter? Even if you injected 1bubble every 3 seconds 24-7 you'd be tons better off.

    Can anyone identify this please

Sorry mate I meant chunks not chucks. Yeh pulling out what you can from rocks ect and cutting off any leaves it's securely attached too is a start, I mentioned turning the filter of when you do this so that you don't have small amounts of the stuff getting chucked around your tank and then...

    Can anyone identify this please

Have you been ripping it out? Removing any effected leaves and chucks whilst having the filter turned off then doing a water change. Over a week I would suspect it to go. Where did you get assassins from? Have you been back to check the tanks to see if they are having same problems?

    please help

Hello mate Shame to hear tour having problems but dont stress, your flow rate is good, and having a spray bar is a good idea. Get a picture up of your tank and that'll help, things like having the koralia pointing down an across could mean the spray bar and power head could be battling against...

Ready To Throw In the Towel

To be honest, what harm will it do to try the ifs and buts your giving to people who have successful planted tanks already :) The flow you've sorted, so that's good. You've done a good clean and water change, keep doing the waters changes and cleaning any algae you see pop up. As for ferts...

Ready To Throw In the Towel

Hello mate, Right I couldn't find anything on your particular tank being diy'ed but that doesn't mean it can't be done, All you need to do is cut 2 slots in the back of the lid, you make a slot not a hole as you still need to lift the lid without the tubing being pinched, are your following...

Ready To Throw In the Towel

Mark, lift the lid of the tank and get a shot of the lid and where the lid connects, I'd say chances are you will be able to use the filter, what make is the tank? Ready To Throw In the Towel

Quick one on the filter, if you could a fluval 405 would be really good with spray bar, depends on your budget mate. Again there's other sections of the forum for particular questions like what filter to fit a specific budget ect.

Some really good advice here, glad to see everyone getting involved, we have all been here and know how freaking annoying it is. If I'd come to this forum 1st I think I'd of saved a whole lot of scrilla.. To summerise Move filters so flow is uniform, high up facing the front pane usually...

Ready To Throw In the Towel

Also having co2 and lights set on a timer will help a ton Lights come on at 9am off at 5pm (8hour light period) Co2 comes on at 7am and shuts off at 3pm.... I wouldn't attempt a 8hour lighting period untill more densly planted. Having the co2 staggered to come on before the lights gives...

Ready To Throw In the Towel

Hey Mark, welcome....have a brew and chill :) Joining this forum is a step in the right direction. As Garuf said more plant mass would help a lot, along with tighter maintenance. The EI schedule isn't a strong point of mine to say the least but from reading journals most will do a single 50%...

    Still getting BBA/staghorn on substrate/HC

Im stooped then haha, I don't think the sunshine is gunna help, but I'm sure ceg will have a better answer than my probablys and maybe's. I'm sure the extra flow directly will help. With mine I picked it alllll the time I'd search through the moss with my tweezers looking for tiny bits, I quite...

    Still getting BBA/staghorn on substrate/HC

Hello nry I had this algae in my tank for a short time, this was due as Ceg pointed out to poor flow, wich meant my co2 wasn't getting in that area too well, also at the time I didn't have a solernoid or timer for the co2 so I would turn the reg on with the lights and turn them off together...
