manually removing them is an absolute nightmare,i had a epidemic of the little beasties and had to totally blitz my tank.total strip down boil or replace all media, filter media included, house the fish temporarily, scrub every inch of the tank and filter thourouly using bleach and for good measure...
do all larger echinodorus species leaves change shape in the aquarium?.they look beautiful when placed in the aquarium then change into floppy leaved monstrousity's and lose the shape you originally bought them for.
you can see the reasoning behind this eg.the signal crayfish bred for food and escaped into our waterways has almost anyhilated our own crayfish species and predates on our native fish eggs and other fauna.also there was a problem a while ago when snakeheads got put into a pond in america and...
as the gravel i intend to use to hold the wood down does it matter that it may not be specifically for aquarium use? i.e intended as a top dressing for pots etc.
i had a bit of an idea,i've ordered some long nylon bar and nuts,i'll be drilling through the wood and fastening it to a large plant pot tray and filling it with a bag or so of gravel(in stockings) and rocks to hold it in place and scape around the tray.doing it this way will also give me some...
it had a 3 foot wrecking bar and four taps holding it down....i got woke up yesterday when everything fell off i thought we were being burgled  .i can't do the in tank thing incase the wood moves and the rocks fall and break the tank the missus would'nt be very happy with 240 litres of...
i doubt the missus would let me keep using the bath as some leaching has gone on and the bath is almost brand new......she kicked it out yesterday and even my 5 gallon water change bucket is too small  .
funny that i do mine friday tea time and she buggers off onto the net for hours......i just do'nt tell her what time i finish so i get a couple of hours to listen to the tunes a bit louder  .
a while ago i bought an amazing piece of bogwood that has the appearance of dragon stone with all the holes and craters in it,and in the quest to get it to sink it has had more hot baths than me in the last week and it was held down with a wrecking bar and anything else i could find .but...
theres no need at all to use methylene blue as its mainly(correct me if i'm wrong)an anti fungicide.i used it a few years ago to prevent fungus on corrie eggs, bleach will do the job just fine just rinse well.
i recall hearing that the odd case of fish tb have been reported as people have had open wounds on they're hands and arms and this has left them with serious wounds that are difficult to heal and i think someone also lost an arm and also the case of death as mentioned.
has anyone on the forum...
if no water changes are being performed i would think that the build up of fish waste and plant matter would be sufficient for the plants, but would probably be a good idea to reduce the amount of c02 for the duration of your trip.
just a thought.
