how often do you guys change your pH Reagent and water inside your checker?
Also,is it best to remove the sucker cup,or pull the checker out of the cup ?

If hobbyist "B" suddenly added sodium bicarbonate to his water, his kH would rise. No CO2 would be lost. He would still have 30 ppm CO2 dissolved but the bicarbonate would bond to more acid in the water and he would immediately see a pH rise...

For many years ive always thought that the higher your KH the more co2 you needed to add.
And i have read that on many sites!!

ive just ordered a drop checker and 4KH water.
Ive been out of the planted tank hobby for a few years and things have changed a bit,one being the drop checker.
Ive been used to the old kh kit and ph kit and charting the readings.
My question is...does it matter what your tanks KH...
Only way i can keep mine stable is to change every 3 days
I have a hagen canister and its sat on my 2 light boxes...that way it keeps warm...but runs out very quick.
My plants or doing fine,i have 2.5wpg so dont think i really need to hit the 30ppm co2 mark dead on.

Plants growing ok,but ive noticed that the plants only really start pearling well ,6hours into photoperiod
My co2 levels at lights on (10am) are 30ppm= and ive checked the levels every hour throut the day and if never goes under 30ppm co2....my co2 is on...
