How hard can you prune Glosso?

Never tried such severe butchery with glosso but I would guess it will survive and thrive again no problem.

    German Red Moss

Under white lighting and a clear background I wonder what colour it looks, not that red I would reckon.

    japanese hairgrass in europe?

Probably not an amazing list if you are a collector or anything like and Im sure a lot of shops have better lists than this but that said its pretty good, some species are a bit limited but overall better than anything available to me up to now, quantities are big and prices are cheap what more...

    japanese hairgrass in europe?

Its not on the list doubt they could get it in otherwise, the list is huge but unfortunatly thats not on it, plenty of other little gems there so I wont get too hung up on that one :D

    japanese hairgrass in europe?

Yeah just order two weeks before hand, doesnt seem to be a problem getting the plants, order goes in every two weeks AFAIK. Better off ordering because they have limited supply in the shop, hit and miss if your looking for say a particular foreground plant or anything like that. Ask Gavin he...

    japanese hairgrass in europe?

Could be right mate I will check that out, although I see references to belem as Eleocharis sp. dwarf hairgrass, can't win :D although you are probably correct, see lots of references to belem = sp. Japan. Pity mind you, I have access to a new supplier list from Singapore but I don't see that...

    japanese hairgrass in europe?

Does anyone know the correct latin name name for this plant? Just curious, I see it referred to as Eleocharis sp. Japan or Eleocharis sp. Japanese hairgrass but neither of those I would imagine is the correct scientific name especially the last one :D

How plants are grown by AquaFleur

Good videos Aaron, can't get Aquafleur around these parts, usually Tropica or none at all and yes some of the prices are, well, pricey, but better than nothing at all!! I imagine economics come into it though, if the Aquafleur prices are half the Tropica price the retailer probably only gets...

Java fern "Needle" - Ends seem to be morphing

I think its pretty common on a lot of different ferns, happens to my ferns as well.

    Vallis and Excel

Some types of Vallis (read, most types) and excel do not mix, instant melt in some cases, same with Egeria densa. Excel does not seem to have any affect on Vallis nana in my tanks either.

Java fern 'Narrow', P. helferi and R. 'Nanjensen' experience

I have grown all of them with no problems, I don't know why you are experiencing difficulty with the narrow leaf fern George, it does well in my tanks but a slow grower. It usually does better with more light in my tanks than a low light situation. I think someone else posted on this before...

    Weeping moss

The moss I purchased from Aquaticmagic as "weeping moss" attaches after a while, attaches good as well, I had to scrape it off some rocks I wanted to reuse without the moss, it was hard to get off without doing that. It also weeps quite nicely, so maybe its just a different variation of moss...

    Mini pelia - Riccardia chamedryfolia

Hi Sam No Tropica sell Monosolenium tenerum, that is the ordinary version, although now that you mention it I do remember that plant in your tank alright and that indeed was Riccardia chamedryfolia. You probably got it from Aquaticmagic. I know a few people have grown this plant on the forum...

    Mini pelia - Riccardia chamedryfolia

Has anyone successfully grown/are growing this plant Riccardia chamedryfolia, and if so what conditions did you grow it in? Is it a really slow grower? Thanks.

    Growing Java Fern and Bolbitis

I find my ferns do a lot better with more light, they always looked a bit dull when grown below >1.5WPG, give the same fern more light and it does great for me.

    Advice on a few species

Temperature seems a bit on the high side, the Heteranthera zosterifolia can get quite big, the blyxa can melt initially when planted but normally comes back good, the glosso needs a good bit of light to stay compact >2.5-3WPG.

    Hemianthus micranthemoides growth rate....

I have to say I never considered this to be a slow growing plant, it always grew medium fast for me, I haven't seen it around these parts in a long time either.

    Weeping moss

This worked out ok eventually George, it survived after the initial browning, I have to say though its a very slow growing moss. I bought the moss with the intention of using it in a scape down the line so was just going to grow some out in the meantime, I bought it from Aquaticmagic and I have...

    Monosolenium tenerum

Don't know if there is any secret eds, its one of those plants I would consider easy but I always had it in a properly fertilised tank, once it got going I found it grew relatively quickly, just give it time to do its thing and Im sure it will do the same for you, it can grow into a very nice...

    Monosolenium tenerum

Yes I have used this plant in the past, tough plant, fast grower when it gets going, lots of things you can do with it alright. Some of the mini liveworts are probably more useful though if you are using a small tank for scaping purposes, these usually grow quite slowly though.

    plants

They would probably survive in a bucket of water, certain plants will survive for months in just a bucket of water and natural daylight from a window. It depends though, if these plants have been in a CO2 injected environment they may suffer a little shock and become stunted upon re entry into...

    Weeping moss

Well actually I didnt tie it onto anything, I just threw it into a tank placed between a crack in a rock, maybe I will try tie it down, there seems to be tiny buds beginning to grow, just noticed this today, but definitely some sections are dying off as well. I had read some time ago that in...

    Emersed Eleocharis acicularis

Ok thanks everyone I will give it a try, I just picked up a large pot from the pond secion in the garden centre for €3 :D will give it a haircut and see how it goes, very cheap for the size of the pot, must be about 4x4 inches, makes normal size Tropica pots look tiny for half the price!

    Emersed Eleocharis acicularis

Anybody buy this at the local garden centre and try it in an aquarium? Will it die off before you get submersed growth. Thankyou

    Weeping moss

Just wondering if anyone is growing this moss, I bought this moss a couple of weeks ago and am not sure how this moss is doing for me, some of it seems to be browning, I had heard this moss can be troublesome for some where it goes brown and completely dies off, has anybody experienced this? Am...
