So here goes nothing. Let it be known i'm a total noob at this. I have three tanks in total, but I will only be focusing on two since one is a 24/7 QT tank.
So my first tank ever was the superfish home 60 which I still have going. I have done a massive maintenance on both tanks today.

Superfish Home 60
-Eco-complete w/ black gravel <--I regret that part
-Aqua Flow 200
-s.repens
-Bacopa Compact
-Christmas Moss
-Echinodorus Argentinensis (Giving away to a friend in need)

Livestock
- 3 Male guppies
-1 Amano Shrimp
-3 red cherry shrimp
-6 Neon Tetras

Once I give my friend the E.Argentinensis this tank will be a bit bare. I'm almost tempted to completely redo this tank.

I think i'd have to say my 140L is kinda my fav so far although its not done yet. It took me 5 hours till about 3 in the morning to set it up. I guess i was dedicated.
This tank has
-Aqua Flow 200 (not sure but I think I need something bigger)
-Seachem Flourite black sand (i think i need to order another bag :banghead:)
-Dragon Stone
-Christmas moss I put on a pad
-Echinodorus Argentinensis (what I have left)
-Microsorum Pteropus (narrow leaf)
-Eleocharis Acicularis mini
-Java Moss on a canvas mess
-Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green (added during maintenance)
For livestock
-A Billion guppies mostly fry (going to try and keep the females in this tank)
-14 Red Cherry Shrimp 11 which are a 3 weeks old

I feel like this area in the above pic need filling around the rock I was thinking Alternanthera reineckii Mini maybe move some of the Eleocharis Acicularis mini elseware to cover that entire spot with A.R Mini

Just a bit on my QT tank
12L
-Java Moss in canvas mesh
-Lava rock with Java Moss
-Dragon rock with Java Moss trimmings
Livestock
- 6 baby ramshorn snails (what i can count so far)
-Bladder snail (smuggled its way into my crypts)
-6 Red cherry shrimp 2 of which are 3 weeks old.

Both 60L and 140L tanks are low tech and I dose with TNC Complete and Carbon.

Straight to the point.

140L is doing alright havent had a prob really.
Ive added few more plants etc

I have decided to completely redo the 60L and make it a shrimp tank. I have 20 RCS so ill split them in half between both tanks.

I have noticed a very annoying problem with my 60L tank (Aqua Home 60) the compartment that houses the filter and heater has a gap behind it that fish and go up behind. I've lost 2 guppies which I can only assume is because of this 'flaw' after finding them dead behind it. I used a heat gun to remove it as it is only glued to the glass. If anyone does get one of these tanks I would advise to remove that housing.

^ i drained the tank and you can see the compartment to the left. The xmas moss I have separated from the tree and put in my 140L along with filter sponge to keep the good stuff.

^I separated the housing in two for ease

^There are two long globs of glue I used a thin spatula to separate the housing from the glass.

^Unfortunately i didnt have a razor blade around so ill have to get one from work to remove the rest of the glue.

^Started messing around with rocks thinking of a cave with a white sand path. Not sure yet might change shall see.

I done the same last night with my Superfish 80. Used a bread knife to saw through the silicone, makes a massive difference to the appearance of the tank. Like you I also need to “borrow” a razor blade from Work to finish the job

Great minds think alike

It does have much more space now. I was tempted to take the black sides off of my tank to have more visual affect but i didnt bother. Do you have a journal going?

I meant to start a journal for this tank but never got round to it. Think I might do a retrospective one this weekend if I get time, there’s been quite a few changes in only a few weeks - it will be an interesting read from start to finish.

I was also looking at removing the black plastic surround, but was unsure if I could remove it without causing any damage. I’m sure curiosity will get the better of me fairly soon though!

I kinda want to take them off, but when I do I'll prob have a led light ready.
