Hi All
Needing firstly to confirm that this plant is indeed Elatine Gratioloides. It was harvested from a local area nearby, so have I made a mistake with my id.

Secondly if the id is correct I am having issues with the plant and carpeting.

Image is approx 48hrs after planting. Planting was all individual stems with the tops sitting coming out of the substrate.

Growth has been up to two and half inches, which is great, except it is all straight up.
Am I doing something wrong here?
What do I need to do to get this to carpet?

cheers, thanks, tel

Thanks Paul, and also apologies. I have been meaning to get back to you for a couple of days, but my head has been a little all over the shop.
With Elatine Gratioloides I have read several threads wherein it was used as a foreground carpeting plant, that said I can't remember the specific conditions. One of the other reasons I felt it would do well was that under each set of leaves roots grow.
The failure of it could be to do with depth as it was in shallow water where I extracted it and was of course low and matted.
Having tried it three times, I declared myself beaten so I removed it :)
cheers and thanks Paul
