Dear all,
I am currently trying to complete my dissertation which involves identifying some aquatic plants. I have been able to identify most of the plants I have found so far but there are a couple that I have been struggling with.

If anyone can help me identify the plants on the website stated bellow (I apologise for not uploading the photo's in this post but I was unable to get them to work in the post)

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
129 looks like a Sparganium sp, you can't tell from the picture but S. erectum (Branched Bur-reed) is most likely. Via the wonderful "Bioimages". <http://www.bioimages.org.uk/html/p3/p33620.php>.

148 is either Fool's Water Cress (Apium nodiflorum) or, less likely, Lesser Water Parsnip (Berula erecta). You can't tell from this image, as you need to be able to see the junction of leaf and stem.

161 is more difficult, again because you can't see the important bit (the ligule at the junction of leaf and leaf sheath) it is probably Common Reed (Phragmites australis), but might be a very robust Reed Canary-grass (Phalaris arundinacea) <http://www.bioimages.org.uk/html/p7/p71172.php>.

Phalaris has a long ligule and (Phragmites doesn't - <http://www.floralimages.co.uk/images2/phragmites_australis_1822.jpg> via John Crellin's web site.

cheers Darrel
