Hello,

I am trying my best to achieve balance with my newest low tech no co2 setup and going to test the Dennerle Perfect Plant system.

Tank: Juwel Rio 240 (121x41x55)
Filtration: Hydor Professional 600 filled with matrix
Lights: 2x39 Odyssea fixture withT5 Dennerle Trocal Amazon day + Special plant (6 hours a day for the first week)
Substrate: 1st layer is high porosity clay
2nd layer Dennerle DeponitMix Professional 9in1 mixed with Dennerle Power Tabs
3rd layer JBL AquabasisPlus
4th layer JBL sansibar sand orange
Co2: none
Fertilisation: Dennerle recommended dosage S7, E15, V30 + Planta Gold7

Flora: Micro Sword, Pogostemon Helferi, Crypt Willisi, Crypt Parva, Crypt Wenditii Brown, Crypt var Gecko, Egeria Densa, Hygrophila Siamensis, Hygrophilia Siamensis 53B, Hygrophila Difformis, Hygrophila Corymbosa, Echinodorus Bleheri, Echinodorus Green Flame, Motherplant Java Fern, Hydrocotyle leucocephala, Bacopa Compact, Limnophilia Sessiliflora, Heternathera Zosterifolia.

Fauna: 1 botia loach, 1 pearl gourami, 18 rummy nose tetra

I have a dilemma though: I really dont know how much light should i use and for how long. My lights are 45 cm above the water surface and 90 cm from the substrate and it seems i still get very good par but i cannot know exactly. The lights stay on 6 hours for the moment. How should i approach this without messing up with algae?
