Hi I have just bought a tetra tec 1200 that has been used in a marine set up, what do I need to do to use this in my fresh water tank? Can I use the media that's currently in there?

A quick response would be appreciated. Cheers

I'd probably not choose to use the media since it will contain a lot of salt which is not good for plants, although I'm sure that with sufficient washing and soaking, ultimately this would dissolve out.

Cheers,

Yeah I'd bin the media and just give the filter a good clean and soaking, I mean I don't know what media you were using for marnie but generally it's different to freshwater media.

Thanks for the reply guys, i ran the filter in my bath overnight and will reaplce with new media.

Cheers
