im looking for a substrate which is good for growing plant but hard for my cichilids to re scape probably grains of 4 to 6mm diameter . ive looked akadama but grain sizes are 1 to 6mm it would be to easy for the parrot fish to suck it in and blow it out where they fancy it any ideas ? pea shingle is ugly so ive run out of ideas
