UV : Any value for a shrimp tank ?

Hi I am wondering if there is any value on using a UV steriliser on a shrimp tank ? (Or planted tank in general come to that ?)

I know its a cheeky ask, but if anyone has any experience of these please post ASAP as there is one I am watching on the 'bay and it expires soon, hehe.

Yes, I have tried one of these. Not the lapwater one you're watching is it? If so, you can have mine if you like. I bought it 'cos I thought it might help with bacterial infections but clogs up really fast. Don't know if it does help or not.
