Vallisneria in ponds?

Quick update. The Vals lost almost all of their original growth but I have new stems coming through so looks like they might make it šŸ˜Š The pond has also sprung into life and almost all of the blanket weed has disappeared. šŸ‘ itā€™s not quite where I would like it aesthetically but the bugs and the frogs wonā€™t mind eh!!

I also have new residents in my mini nature pond (puddle šŸ˜‚) with two little froggy faces peering up through the duck weed on a fairly regular basis. Itā€™s got plenty of cover and a big old pile of logs and branches at the back there under the trees so good for hunting Iā€™m sure. Never there when I want to take a photo of course! šŸ™„

The pond & surrounding area is looking great! I'm surprised there isn't a queue of newts, frogs, toads & other pond creatures jostling for a place to live, love it!
I tried a nature pond but we live in an industrial town area where the neighbours all pave the front garden, grass the back garden & saw down any trees other than giant conifers. šŸ˜Ÿ So not much aquatic life appeared apart from a badger which trampled all the plants down!

Thank you! šŸ˜Š

Yeah, so many gardens are still fairly sterile.
This was mine not long after I bought the house a couple of years back. (The washing line post is where the big pond is now) and other than a few fruit trees the entire garden was pretty much grass.

Then it got a bit of landscaping

And now itā€™sā€¦..busier, for sure!

Itā€™s still suburbia but with a little slice of wild. šŸ˜Š
We get an occasional badger visit too, who is kind enough not to trample the plantsā€¦..but only because itā€™s too busy digging up the lawn! šŸ˜‚
