Would this limit flow or improve it?

If I was to use mini landscape rock to make a "mountain" that was 3/4 the length of my tank and 3/4 the height of my tank but with lots of room at the back and front would it limit flow or increase it?

I am thinking it would increase it due to the flow been funneled around the outer area's of the tank but thought I would ask for opinions first.
 
both in front right corner, inlet at bottom, outlet at top.
