Name that Rock!

Hi Team,

I got a job-lot of rock, of which one I could not identify.

It also seems to have some soft sediment in the holes (clay-like?!) that comes loose with jet watering or scraping with a finger, so I am not sure what it is!

Any idea?

Any ideas on what the cleaning requirements are, and any other tips before placing in the water? Do I need to get every bit of clay out of the holes?

Soak, scrub, hose., rinse, scrub, rinse.

I soaked mine in a bucket of water overnight then used a toothbrush to scrub them and a wooden skewer to push thru the holes. You’ll be amazed how much crud comes out to reveal detail. Repeat as necessary.

Jetwash. It's very soft rock and the holes hide all sorts of loose fine material.
