Tropica Aquacube, the forgotten crystal gem from Tropica

View attachment 215248

I’m really impressed in the overall performance of this set, the old 20w Halogen bulb is doing wonders and not a single hint of algae. Neocaridina has started to breed too so everything is fine I guess, I changed the tank location as it was annoying the misses in the kitchen, took me 5min to move, joy! 😄
Love this, amazing work with a small space. 👍🏻

That looks ace- not seen one of those Tropica aquariums before. Love that piece of wood- perfect!
Thanks a lot , it’s local juniperus roots from south of France 🇫🇷

Thanks a lot!

I got some new critters for it, neocaridina koi sunburst! 🍊

So these shots were taken during quarantine in my hakkai stones iwagumi, now some shots in the tropica, excuse the poor quality, I had to sell my mirroless camera last year…

For some reason the switch from the original halogen light decided to die, I grabbed an second hand onf flat nano since I had great results on non co2 setups with this led, here it is, 7h per day on the lowest setting (25% for now).

Great little tank, love the nanos 😁 colours look great with the onf.

Thanks dean

Hi guys!

The aquacube is doing great!

In the upcoming days I’ll add some more Bucephalandra and probably remove the eriocaulon as it looks an bit out of place.

Onf still at 25% power 7h per day

Wc once a week 50%

Baby neo koi sunburst are growing fine, I think this tank will be quickly overstocked :)

Cheers!

Love the neo koi sunburst. If anyone know where in UK we can get them please do share as I would love to have some.

Cleaned the sand today, removed the eriocaulon as it looked a bit out of place in this tank and wasn’t so happy, added one blueish buce , will add some more phantom mini in the future.

Cheers,

Atm Garnelio is the only EU shop that had them, they seem to come from an Asia breeder (that’s what Lukhaup said).

I guess they will be more popular in the future, I’m curious too see how the juvenile colors up! ;)

New location for the aquacube.

Really enjoying this set atm.

My routine is still:

7h30 per day of light, 25% power on the Onf
50% waterchange per week, only tap water
No ferts

That’s all, the shrimplets are nearly 1cm now, let’s hope they will sell well!

Cheers guys!

Such a cool tank and scape 😎

Lovely little setup. I have an antique glass battery case from the 1890s (a comparable size and shape to this tank) and I've wondered about putting a little project in it. This is some nice inspiration.

This little poor looking scape will now end and I will probably sell the whole setup since I’m stopping aquascaping, we can close this journal, thanks for following!
Take a break from aquascaping Thierry, and/or just keep a simple planted tank and enjoy that for a while.
Either way, keep the best of your equipment, and store it out of sight, and out of mind.
There'll come a point you'll want to return and you'll be glad you did :)

Aww that’s a shame. I thought all your scapes look amazing! Hope to see something from you again in the future.

For what its worth.

Before i started my thread here on ukaps last month i was a long time lurker and for some reason the handle 'CooKieS' and your threads became for me very inspirational just like some other oldtimers here.
I learned a lot from you guys reading your journals for hours and hours.

Seeing you leave the hobby makes me a bit sad.

I dont know the reason but i sure hope its not something heavy. I wish you all the best and hope some day your name will pop up again with a new scape.

All the best,
Walter
