cat litter on top?

what would be the downsides to using cat litter on TOP of eco-complete?
i know it'll be better to use cat litter UNDER the eco-complete but i prefer the look of the cat litter once its wet and settled, so.....
whats the downsides to having it on top?

Non I think. Takes in excess nutrients. Just pop it on and see. It will mix with the Eco complete anyway eventually

that answer is good enough for me.
so thats what im going to do, cat litter on top of eco-complete, and then plant some TNC plugs underneath, plant loads of either glosso or hemianthus, start dosing ferts and let the fun begin.
