Got my new regulator through with adjustable working pressure to team up with inline diffuser. Was just wondering if it is ok to insert said diffuser into the return pipe before my inline heater? Or does it have to go after the heater?

It really ought not to matter. Place it where most convenient as long as it doesn't interfere with the functioning of the heater.
