ip44 decking lights

Hi...i have been given a pack of 10 white and 10 blue decking lights.Each light unit has 3 led bulbs..Anyone ever thought of using these as a diy project for lighting their planted tank..They seem pretty bright but i cant find what wattage they are.. will they be bright enough?

You really need a wattage or even better lumen output to decide if they are going to be of any use. Wattage can't be that high as there is no sign of heatsinking or heat spreader, so I would suggest great for decking lighting but not useful for fish.

I would also suggest that these certainly very low wattage, look at these 1W ones, cost £22 each and have heatsinking.

el 40026 wattage per lamp fitting is 2.25 watt ( 3bulbs @ .75 watt each ) lol hope it helps

10 lamps at 2.25 = 22.50w....so really,thats not gonna be enough.
