We have the Ecco Pro 200, circa 2018, its always been a bit noisy / cabinet vibrations, be interesting to know if your new one is good and quiet ?

Damn that DIY cabinet looks so good (I keep seeing so many impressive professional DIY works here lol).

What size is the tank? 😊

Thanks SirBuce. it turned out better than i expected. the tank is only 57ltrs. 60cm-30cm-30cm-i only wanted a smallish tank to get started then hopefully upgrade but i defo wish i had went a bit higher with this one as im thinking the stems will be back to the surface every few days. i dont mind tinkering about in the tank though so not too bad.

Dino ,the eheim filter is very quite. Only a slight noise of the water running through the pipes but only when cabinet doors open and i bend dwn to put my ear to it. No rattling at all im glad to say🙂

Glad yours is ok  afraid ours is actually noisier inside the cabinet than outside, it just resonates like mad and nothing calms it down ? Could try a new impellor and ceramic shaft but thats nearly £50 !

Don't know what Co2 diffuser you have got, but other members recommended one of these, really fine output and its quiet easy to clean as GF shows, though we double rinse ours.
Twinstar Diffuser CO2 - Small

Strange. Eheim is usually pretty good and quite.I got a c02 art inline diffuser. Hopefully it does the job well👍👍👍

Yes, Eheim used to be the one to go for, but as mentioned elsewhere in the forum a good few other folk suffer the same noise /vibration problem with theirs as well.

Just done the first 50% water change with RO and S.Equil. etc, no adverse reaction with the stock.
The RO water still a little cloudy from the SE even after circulating and heating overnight, but nothing noticable once in the tank.

Hi folks. After 4 weeks of dark start iv got tank planted up and everything up and running.
I ended up upgrading the tank to a slightly higher and deeper. Previous one was 60cm x 30cm x 30 cm so i changed to 60cm x 40cm x 40cm. Small change but makes a big difference looking at it.
Covered the tank with blanket for 4 weeks then finally got it done. Hopefully it will help with algae prevention and plant melt.

Hope you like it.👍
Thanks
Sean

Looks great mate and you’ve clearly proven that you have the patience to take things slowly. Small adjustments made slowly are key to success in anything aquatic.

If you’ve never come across this tip before, I’m sure it will help you out. A magnet can be used for cleaning aquasoil from the sandbed, you could then plant the carpet a little heavier to help prevent soil spilling over once CUC and fish are added.
