They wreck havoc in a planted tankNot an apisto but kribensis would be perfect for your water parameters and have very similar behaviour to apistos.
This is very interesting. Thought these were nailed on soft water apistoI just checked on her this morning and the eggs have hatched! She's swimming around with fry.
Clearly they can successfully breed in hard water. 🙂
It's my first try with them Fancy something differentI've been wondering the same thing, I haven't kept cichlids before and I'd quite like to try a pair. I've a 90x30x30 to set up and my waters about the same gh (once I've cut it 50/50 with rain/ro.
What are the different species like behaviour wise? I've got ember tetra that I'll need to temp house somewhere at some point ... too small?
Yeah give it a go, my water is harder than yours so you should be fine! This is very interesting. Thought these were nailed on soft water apisto
Both kribs and apistos will dig, if that's what you're referring to. Giving them a cave with and entrance just small enough for them to fit through helps to avoid it sometimes. They wreck havoc in a planted tank
Decided to go with the more peaceful apisto but I was very tempted with your information.Yeah give it a go, my water is harder than yours so you should be fine!
Borellii is a solid second choice though!Decided to go with the more peaceful apisto but I was very tempted with your information.
