I have the same style bubble counter as you and I use glucose in it instead of water. You can buy a little pot from tesco in the baking section.
You need to warm it up in hot water so its thinner then use a syringe to inject it into the bubble counter.
So far its been 3 weeks and I'm yet to top...

I believe that my needle valve is giving me inconsistent flow of co2. Which is causing fluctuations in co2 levels creating algae.
So I finally think I am winning that battle between all of the above.
Then my Eheim 2075 decides it's going to start leaking.. No problem I thought, ordered new seals...
Which made no difference upto the point where is was leaking 5 litres every 4 hours!

Things seem to be improving as i have moved the plants from right at the edge of the tank. I seem to be suffering loads of brown algae now, and green algae.

I'm hoping to identify the deficiency i seem to be noticing. I seem to have yellowing of tips of the leaves, and several with brown spots on them.
200 Litre Roma
I have 2x39w T5HO bulbs on for 7 hours a day.
co2 - On 2 hours before lights, 1 hour before off.

I do believe it is Hygrophila Difformis, I do plan on experimenting with some carpeting plants once i know i wont get algae!
I now have light again, and I'm guessing that the plants will need a few days to recover.
