any ideas on what fish this is?

Definitely down to price I would imagine. Iirc when I have seen them they are pretty expensive especially at maiden heads

    Sick Fish??.....and a Platy Bully!!

Long poop can be caused by the binders in commercial foods. Giving them fresh veg for a few days will clear their systems but it would come back again as soon as you switch back to flake.

    Angelfish

As Ender says adult angels will eat small tetras, personally I'd start with 6-8 juvies and let them sort themselves out, many people forget they are cichlids and males tend to be intolerant of each other and a breeding pair will claim alot of space.

    Stocking 46l Fluval Edge, Apistos?

Like I said I did plenty of resecarch and alot of humming and harring before deciding to give a go, I do have the ability to separate them if needed but there's been no issues so far and it seems I have provided a sufficiently complex environment along the bottom and vertically for the fish to...

    Stocking 46l Fluval Edge, Apistos?

Just to update this, after much reading and alot of humming and harring I decided to go with a pair of caucatoides and half a dozen green neons and must be doing something right as I have just had my first sight of free swimming fry this morning  (:

    Stocking 46l Fluval Edge, Apistos?

Hi All, I've inherited a 46l fluval edge (the tall one) and I would like some advice stocking it. I planning a soft/black water setup and I'm quite keen to have a go with apistos, just not sure which species (if any) are suitable.

    Congo Tetra advice

Dont worry too much about the fins as long as they arent rotten as only the top 1 or 2 males will get perfect finnage the rest will be shorter not sure why just is. Look for the stongest oranges you can find Ill stick a pic of my previous ones in a sec.
  15. OllieNZ

    Congo Tetra advice

Yes it does. But like rainbowfish you need a ratio of 1m 2-3f in a group other wise the females suffer. Another thing to look for when buying is the strength of the colour even in the shop as these will be brighter once they colour up. Due to this even my sub dominant males were brilliant.
  16. OllieNZ

    Congo Tetra advice

I had them with cardinals and no issues the cpds arent that much smaller. I had an all male group and they kept to them selves. They are pretty agressive feeders so you will need some small sinking food to make sure the cpds dont miss out. I use crushed tetra prima.

    L204 vs My Hardscape

Hi All I'm looking into getting some L204s for my tank and during my research have read they are heavy consumers of wood. I don't really want them to go to town on my manzi:eek: so is there a way of providing them an alternative source of wood they would rather chew up than my hardscape? Or...

Are there any Dwarf Cichlids suitable with Cherry shrimp?

Re: Are there any Dwarf Cichlids suitable with Cherry shrimp I think most cichlids, dwarf or not will make a meal of cherries. I got away with N. Brevis and Amanos, the amanos were nearly as big as the brevis though.

    Hisonotus leucofrenatus

    Lol no worries then
  34. OllieNZ

    Hisonotus leucofrenatus

I still don see the problem with the size unless your putting them in a small tank. Bigger = More Cleaning Power surely. I cant imange they'll be a threat to anything.
  35. OllieNZ

    Hisonotus leucofrenatus

Whats putting you off size wise? too big/too small? 2-2.5ins max length dosen't seem too strange, they wont eat small fish/shrimp and aren't any smaller than any other oto.
