Cool! Yeah i like these types of tanks as you might know since i have one for myself. The land part is an cool extra addition :) Only problem i have is that i can't really have carpeting plants since my riparium is double the height and that means a lot of light... But well, cant have it all ;)...

So here a global update regarding the stuff that is going on. Very pleased with the new reactor. It dissolves the co2 bubbles completely so no more 'fog' in the tank and ofcourse much more effective. Im pretty sure the new waterfall is also the cause for degassing the co2 from my water lolz...

Had a quick peek a fluval gro + and it's mainly iron although it does contain NPK its in minute amounts. Like Darrel mentions approx 98.6% water.

As my current layout approaches the 2 years mark, that itch to rebuild it once more starts to grow. Some things worked well, others not so much. I see some of my choices from the current setup as a bit daring for my skill level with hardscape and layouts overall, and they didn't work so well...

Just kidding - here it is. Beautiful tank, and somewhere in the thread there is a battle between emersed and submersed plants. Not being able to find it was driving me mad.

Hopefully things get sorted out soon. There was a tank on here (I think?) or might have only been on TPT - I think it was from MinorHero, but I can't find it anymore - Whomever it was had a similar setup with to yours and could not keep algae away because of nutrient competition from emersed plants.

I think it must be fairly systemic throughout the industry, and a bit and miss. But yes perhaps that would be the best course of action.

Well that's exclusive all the tetras, Cory's, otto's.. With nitriet limitation the rotala should get red it just gets orange, it grows quite well and pearls, but no reds and I have the skilights blasting at full power.. 😅 I left Ei after always struggling with bba and tryed apt lean dosing style...

That is true - and something to be aware of when applying UV light... Instead of potentially overdosing traces I would opt for just running the UV on a timer - say 8 hours a day and dose the micros when the UV is not running... say at the beginning of the photoperiod. Cheers, Michael

It's probably Anubias rot or melt. There's a few older threads on this somewhere here; one below. It's happened to me too fairly recently and many other members in the past. It's probably infected nursery stock and I don't think there is very much you can do about it, except perhaps try again...

Thank you - it's far from a showstopper, but always gives me something to tinker with. That's what I'm thinking, and it seems to be true from the trends I've been seeing. pH seems to be rising a little bit each day.

Nah - not if you’re still injecting CO2, fish load will provide no where near enough N and P, that and the very high light from the Hyperspots will be contributing to your algae woes.

I can understand your concerns with the stand, I felt the same. However, it has held up well so far, I wouldn't dare put it in a spot though where the tank could be accidentally knocked allowing the tank to sway a little!

I had a Filtreau Drum Filter installed about three years back. Don't regret it one bit, or miss manually cleaning filthy filter media, brushes etc in the middle of winter.:) They are not totally maintenance free though, as some claim and also do have parts that will inevitably fail at some point.

This is what I do but after adding the desired amount of CaNO3 I then bring the calcium level up to the target level 50/50 with CaCl2 and CaSO4, and then deduct the nitrate from from the fertz recipe. The fabulous IFC Aquarium Fertilizer Calculator does all the hard work (maths) for you.

Potassium sorbate is a preservative, so you’ll need that and the ascorbic acid will lower the pH, thus avoiding interaction between iron and phosphate. I think vimibar will work, but have never used it myself and it will dilute your salts more as you’re adding liquid.
