My pygmies like Vitalis catfish pellets a lot. I also use Tetra Tabimin and Repashy foods and the Vitalis pellets are the most stable of those in my opinion.

I’m curious about this too. I have freshwater limpets in all my tanks and keeping fish help a lot, but I’m about to start a shrimp only tank…I haven’t used Gastropex but I’ve used flubenol to deworm fish and it didn’t eradicate the limpets.

I’ve done it the same way, with easy plants and low light. Used Dennerle bio-CO2, so the CO2 level reduced naturally towards the end.

I run CO2 on my low tech for the first 6-7 weeks from startup, it didn’t prevent crypt melt but I think it helped against algae. Maybe it could work for you too? And I’d say plant heavily from the start.

To clarify, 120 bpm is on a Dennerle bubble counter, those are quite large bubbles - there are loads more going through the counter of the inline diffuser.

I think I'd just keep on doing WCs with conditioner and adding the medications an hour or so later as @alto recommended in an earlier post. Your situation should count as "normal circumstance" (normal usage of Prime as per instructions), the rest being disclaimers.

We don't have chlorine/chloramine in our tap water so I am lucky I don't need to use conditioners. But if you do, then it doesn't sound right to me to expose them now, when they are ill already. Are there any alternatives, like aerating the water before WC? Or is it not effective enough? Maybe...

I keep on giving my plants too much water too...for me it helps to add some perlite to the soil, the draceanas seem to like it. I propagated a new one from cuttings this spring, and it has taken off quite well.
