    Second hand filter help

I've recently acquired an aqua manta efx 200 filter from a friend who was clearing his shed, it's all in good working order as I've tested it by running it on a bucket of water. This has been in a friend's shed for around a year, how do I sterilise it to make it as safe as I can for use in my...

    AquaRio NEO eBay clone

I've got one of the clones and to be honest it's better than a normal cheap glass diffuser, but after recently purchasing a genuine Rio diffuser, I can confirm its worth paying the extra money for the real thing. I wouldn't go as far as saying there a waste of money because that's not fair as...

    Time for a trim?

I would cut the taller stems first and let the others get more established, the trimmings can be replanted to help fill out the empty areas and increase plant mass. Just bare in mind where you cut the plant is where it will create the new shoots, so I normally advise to cut as low as you can...

What do I need to start a nano planted tank?

This depends on the plants you are looking to keep whether you need to use co2 injection, if you want to keep a low tech tank you won't use co2 as its co2 injection that makes a tank high tech if i'm not mistaken. You will just be dosing ferts to keep plants free from deficiency's and have...

Eleocharis parvula (dwarf hairgrass) and Amano Shrimp

Whenever I plant dwarf hair grass I normally find some of it working lose with shrimp and fish exploring whats new in the tank, once the plant manages to get some roots down this will stop, try burying it deeper into the substrate to allow this to happen. I always thought that planting it to...

    cryptocoryne trimming

Hey guys just a quick question regarding trimming or controlling crypts when they get large and start imposing on the other plants. I'm not sure whether it's worth moving the crypts in my tank to another location, rather than trimming a few leaves but I would rather not risk causing any damage...

    Frosted vinyl background

I purchased a frosted background from Amazon, it is glue free and was very easy to apply as you can simply remove it and put it back on as many times as you like. Will upload a photo shortly to show you the results as well as a link to the product I used. Hope it helps.
