Unfortunately I wont get chance to give it a go as a marine tank fell into my hands and thats costing me a fortune to keep. selling it with a diffuser background if anyone is interested for £130.00, pickup from Saltaire, West Yorks.
Nearly all the gear, no idea
update for anyone interested, i bought an all pond solutions lighting unit (6 x 24w and 4 x blue led) at the weekend. extreme overkill I know for a 120litre, but its in great condition and was a bargain. dual power supply so i'll be running 2 x Osram 880's and 1 x...

I've got a plan in mind for a really lush, archipelago style island - quite steep in parts (that'll be a challenge all by itself) with white sand surround. im going to put it on a low ada diy cabinet so i can stare at it from the sofa. this means it'll need to look...
Welcome to my trial and error journal, a first attempt at aquascaping as opposed to bunging a few plants into a tank to keep the guppies happy. i've kept malawi and tanganyikan cichlids on and off for about 15 years now so know my way around a test kit and water change. Thats about it though -...
Hi, I have used akadama in my 130l with spagnum (sp?) peat underneath and osmocote pellets. I have reasonable growth from my plants considering i dont use co2 or ferts and only have 36w lighting.
I wouldnt use it again based on the particle size and red/brown colour. I will use a proper aqautic...
keep checking to see if pics have been posted yet for this...
i'm putting a bit away each week to buy one of these and going to diy a cabinet for it with diy suspended light rig. cant wait to see what george has done here!
paul, you're a legend! thanks for taking the time to write that out its much appreciated. i will buy the ingredients and bits this week and get on the EI path.
thats looking neat, i tried to do the same thing but haven't gone to the extent of detailing the path. looking forward to seeing how this one goes, really liked your last scape.
awesome, thanks i'd like to see your scape developing - as someone else mentioned the dimensions of this tank make things a little trickier so respect to you for pulling off such a nice look.
ive kept the trickle filter on with a sawn off intake pipe and removed the top silver band and all...
Re: [IWAGUMI] Project Scree
hi george, i'm new to the site but hail from the flats of lincolnshire. thought i'd say hi, and good work on the scape, gives a good impression of scale.
i finally got round to buying a koralia nano for the tanks water movement. very impressed, it is perfect.
only a couple of plants have uprooted, and growth is really good, fish healthy and happy and no algae.
hours are on for 10 hours per day, total 36w for a 30g tank.
water changes every few...
just started running diy co2 using white sugar and bakers yeast. getting about 2bubbles per second. i have changed the trickle filter outlet to a curved once which doesnt agitate the surface. i have put my co2 line through this, whacked an airstone on it then pulled it back in to the outlet. i...
im going to get a plain shower privacy screen/tile and stand it off the back with spacers. then put my midnight lights to shine on the wall behind, but thanks for the offer m8.
cheers. kind of awkward tank, especially when you fill it to the top and plunge your hand, arm and shoulder to the bottom..
i originally bought it second hand for marine, which it would have been ideal for, but came over to the light side at the last minute.
what have you got at the front...
could anybody pls tell me what the lighter green plant is called? background coming soon (diffused set off the back with spacers to give depth effect when midnight lights are on)
Hi everyone, please feel free to comment on my 620t effort....
Tank specs:
Aqua One 620t with added mods: removed plastic trim and silicone at top and sides, shortened filter intake and changed outflow to direct it mid water rather than across the surface.
Filtration: Trickle filter with...
