The mini tank comp Diego Sandoval

interesting that most of the greenery is moss, which is probably easier to put into scale. Very nice tanks. wish I had the skills to attempt something like this.

Just redone my tank and water is cloudy, so thinking of giving purigen a go. Looks like very small particles suspended in the water.

    Feedback Plants

I ordered a jungle pack from AQ on Friday, it arrived today (Monday) as expected. Very well packaged, beautiful plants and plenty of them. Courier was good with updates and a 1 hour timeslot for delivery. Overall very impressed with the quality and service. I will definitely buy again and would...

Thanks for all replies, much appreciated. After looking at their feedback(100%) on fleabay, I have decided to purchase a tank from them. Once it is delivered and tested I will report back on them. NACD are nothing to do with this company and are, in fact, still trading as NACD. Aquariums for...

    T8 led tubes

Hi all. I have a 120lyr fluval tank with 2x t8 18w bulbs, not very happy with the yellowish light they show in the tank, and was thinking of changing for t8 leds. I work on a limited budget and find that most of the tubes are £50 plus, which is a little out of my price range. I was wondering if...

    Syphon for tank

Hi all, after a bit of advice. I currently use a small plastic syphon tube for cleaning my substrate, but I am not to happy with it, doesn't seem to be much suction really and the exit from the larger tube gets clogged easily. I have seen some battery powered ones on fleabay and just wondered if...

Bit more of a play. At the front left i will be having a moss carpet. Got loads of lush green moss in the garden that was removed from a drystone wall in the countryside. Aiming to get this done in the next 2 weeks. I will also be putting some moss on the wood and small bits on the stone.

Just watched the video. I tried gluing moss to wood a few years ago and it left white marks, why didn't I think about sprinkling some brown substrate over it. Funny how the obvious sometimes eludes us. Also, I never thought about cutting and gluing.

    Taking the plunge at last.

Thanks for the input. I see what you mean about the space behind the rocks on the left and also the wood. This was just a quick play tbh, so any suggestions will be taken into consideration. I don't need to have as much stone in there, so I could take a large piece out from the left side and try...

    Taking the plunge at last.

So this week I have been playing with the hardscape and have ended up with this. I began with a pair of the wifes tights and made a couple of gravel bags for the back corners. I then covered these "mounds" with about 20mm of John Innes no3, then 20/30 mm of gravel on top of that as a cap. The...

    British tree roots ok?

Hi all. I have a queery about wood for my aquarium. Been gardening this weekend and cut down quite a large bush that was blocking light from my living room. Trimmed it all down to fit in sacks for the tip and found the twigs and small branches to be quite similar to finger wood. After a bit of...

Quick growing moss for low tech

I found some terrestrial moss growing on the pavements round the car park at work. Thought i would try to grow it submerged. so i scraped a lump up and put it into 2 tubs with tapwater. It seems to be doing ok, it is pearling a lot, so give it a few weeks to see how it goes, could be a cheap...

I am afraid my beloved MX5 needs to be parked where the pond is. We only moved here in oct last year and the pond was leaking then, so it would need a complete redoing to get it up and running again. The filter is also in a sorry state.
