Very good, side by side to the 60p there isn't much if any difference in silicone work. After a while though there is a noticeable difference in quality of glass with the ADA being clearer.

It's a problem even with daily evaporation, I'm thinking a little o ring as is on the bottom adjuster would solve it. Although it stops it "auto adjusting" which it doesn't anyway so I think I'm going to try fixing it in place.

Everything's growing well, had to trim the DHG for the first time but it's sending out plenty of runners which is great. Starting to get a little frustrating having to play with the skimmer attachment to get it just right now after every water change.

I would go with Eheim, been using them on and off for the last 18 years and not had a single problem.

With a combination of their prices and poor customer services it's not a surprise they would be going under. Hopefully we will get another ADA stockist, perhaps Aquarium Gardens would be in a good position to go for it.

I used them twice and won't be again after the response I had on problems with my last purchase.

Today the decision was made to stick with one tank and this will be the one, I've now moved from my Signature 60x45x30 into this. A bit cloudy still but the journey begins now.

Well after some thought and a talk with the Mrs setting up another tank just wasn't practicle with a baby on the way, so... I've moved into the ADA 60p and will be selling this Signature and light to focus on that from here on. Sadly this journal has come to it's end today, the continuation...

I had a carpet of MH in a non co2 set up, I was daily dosing liquid carbon and it grew like a weed in a matter of weeks.

Then perhaps try to make a single feature out of a few stones rather than a cluster, try and pair some up tightly for one impact zone if you know what I mean.

I would stretch it more rather than cluster it all together.

Does it matter if it's white or brown vinegar?

I've tried scrubbing with a sponge and RO, scraping with a razor blade while wet, limescale remover and a toothbrush to scrub and nothing works..... Any ideas chaps?

So yesterday this happened lol a deal local enough and too good to miss.

I use TNC liquid carbon and complete, I dose 2x the carbon and 3x the complete without any problems. I did notice an improvement from dosing the complete daily in daily amounts rather than weekly too so perhaps think about that.

The rice fish? I got some from Maidenhead Aquatics in Grantham.

Plants are settling in well, some of the rice fish from this morning. Natural light shows up their colour really well.

When I chained multiple externals before I did it with Rena xp2's, out to in and so on and it worked fine. It's just running two via single pipes I'm not certain on as I haven't before, it would be two Eheim 2213's. What would make you go for two intakes @Edvet?

In the past I have daisy chained filters for added filtration, I'm considering running two of the same externals through the single in/out pipes by joining them with a Y piece. Has anyone else done this? Can anyone think of any potential problems? I'm more interested in increasing flow...

Thank you, pictures don't show the tank very well tbh as the rock is still quite exposed, it's all very early stages with ideas and progress to get it where I want it. I don't want to go full on Iwagumi with the planting so it's a matter of finding a good middle ground really.

Well the 16mm skimmer pipe is a lot bigger than I expected.... possibly better suited to a min 90cm tank rather than 60cm but it's great either way. I've removed the additional circulation pump and will see how it goes for a week, if I notice any change I'll look at upgrading my Eheim 2213...

Just noticed some of the dwarf hair grass is already sending out runners, could have been one I replanted yesterday which is why they are above the substrate and I hadn't noticed before. Pretty pleased it's growing so well already after only 7 days.

Im considering swapping the AR and Juncus but not sure yet, the Ludwigia Palustris will be going to the left of the AR in the gap at the moment. I could end up with them both where the Juncus is after a while.

I like this, I would create a much higher bank on the left and move it all over then add some smaller falloff stones to the right scattered around.

Well nothing much to report, dosing 2ml TNC liquid carbon and 2ml TNC complete ferts daily in the morning. Co2 7am-7pm 4bps, lights adjusted for natural light to now 4pm-10pm. All just floating along while I play with ideas in my mind with what to do next.

Have you tried using that big stone on the left stood up and slanted in the 600? I would. Again though awesome wood and stone but all too tidy, maybe try closing one eye and getting a bit skeewiff with it all lol

You have some awesome rocks yet again, but I do think they look placed and too spaced. Also think more would be good to make it a little frenzied, however you know I'm pretty useless with rock scaped myself lol

I've been toying with the idea on a glass outpipe with surface skimmer to replace the eheim plastic and also removing the extra pump but still not decided on either yet, the thought of a carpet is also in the back of my mind.

Plants arrived in grear shape and time from Aqua Essentials and are in, big fan of the Juncus. I'm still not really doing much with it in terms of plants so will let these do their thing for a while before I take another look into what direction I go with it.

For the last few days I have timed my co2 to the ambient/natural light, in my mind if the plants are receiving enough light for photosynthesis then I should have the co2 timed to match it. No proven mechanics behind it just my own theory which happens to be totally different to the given...

I've also thought that even basing co2 on 30ppm is only actually because livestock won't tolerate much more than that, we have far more than 30ppm in the atmosphere where plants thrive so it's a bit of a misconception that 30ppm is needed for the plants rather than it just being a maximum level...

I guess I'm just throwing the rule book out the window with my theory, I have no idea how much co2 I have in ppm I just know it's as high as the fish can take. I've simply broken down the basics of that if a plant has enough light to wake up it should have co2, given the basic understanding...

I'll need to do a new one as I have re scaped since my last one, from what I remember based on the ph table I had over 100ppm which obviously isn't right but someone said the co2/ph profile was based on RO not tank water.

Lets work with an example of my theory based on summer time, So lets say a room gets enough ambient light to "wake up the tank" from say 6am until say 10pm, 16hrs total Then the tank light is run from say 4pm until 10pm, 6hrs Co2 run from 2pm to 9pm, 7hrs If the tank is awake and plants...

Anyone that has their lights and co2 synced to say 5pm for example is potentially neglecting the need for co2 from when the tank wakes up, in my case 8am ish but will differ from room to room of course.

The only benefit I can see of running 24/7 is having that added co2 when the tank wakes up which is where I feel the standard 2hrs before lights on ignored, there is no benefit of co2 over night so it can only be that the potentially ignored time is then covered.

I did a brief ph profile and checked it against the ph/co2 chart which came back as off the scale lol Through trial and error I have the co2 as high as I can without the fish gasping at the surface so know I'm at my max level for it, distribution is in my mind great and diffusion is inline...

Literally, I have been as sure as I can be that I'm doing everything as I should in the tank with co2 etc etc but nothing was getting any better with algae, yet the plants all grow like mad even buces were sprouting shoots all over the place.
