    Suitable return pump

That's true. Unfortunately big tanks cost more. I remember seeing a post on a marine forum, this guy had a 6 ft marine tank and was running at 50 quid a month just on electric!

    Suitable return pump

The heat the pump gives out will help you save on the heater being on longer! Seriously. Unless you want to spend a few hundred quid on a dragon pump which has good head height and low wattage, then worrying about 80w on a large tank isn't worth it. My 100g marine tank was costing about 20 -...

    Suitable return pump

Get s ehiem 5000l an hour pump. Nice and quiet and can be adjust if you think the 5000l is two much. You will also lose done turn over due to the head height. Each pump manufacturer has a different loss.

    From 100g planted tank

I've keep fish for many years and the last fair few was keeping marine fish. Although marine fish are colourful there is still something about a planted tank that can't be beaten. The set up consists off: 4x2x2ft tank with sump 2 x 150w halide lighting Autotop up unit 3000lph return pump...

    Water changes

Need a bit of advise please :) My tank water volume is about 450L, only has a few plants at moment and two medium size bits of bog wood. I pre soaked the wood but it still leaches, would doing a daily 60l water change be too much? Pic of the tank, just waiting to order some more plants, will...

    CO2 Newbie....First Reg/Sol

I've not had any problems once its set at correct bubble speed. Used it for a calcium reactor on marine tank and once set never really adjusted. Been set on planted tank for over a week now and not adjusted and kept perfect bubble count from day one.

    CO2 Newbie....First Reg/Sol

I use the Tmc regulator / solenoid set. Used one for a few years. Once you get used to the fine tuning its very very easy at a good price.

One think I need confirming is the Tmc regulator and solenoid, it has two dials one is showing 70bar and other 2bar. Is one pressure of co2 cylinder and other the working pressure through regulator?
