Tropica premium fertiliser vs Easy life profito

So I decided to go for the Tropica Premium plant nutrition 300ml bottle from Aquarium gardens based on the poll I placed on my Instagram story (Scapeaddict) and believe it or not I was given The Aquascaper Complete Plant Nutrition 500ml by mistake. Coincidence much? Spoke to Dave at AG and he...

Tropica premium fertiliser vs Easy life profito

Setting up a low tech setup, however I will be using co2 for the first month or so for the high demanding mosses. With the scape mostly consisting of Bucephalandra, mosses, and moderate fish stock. I'm deciding between two prominent fertilisers. Tropica Plant Growth Premium fertiliser and Easy...

    Arcadia T5 LED

Hi All, So as promised I decided to go for the 742mm Freshwater Pro Arcadia T5 LED's for my Juwel vision 180. So after about 2 months burn in time I thought I'd give a review on them based on my experience. As mentioned earlier I decided to go for a hardscape only setup for now, so the lights...

    New to Reverse Osmosis

So if were to not use a DI chamber in the RO unit can't i just use straight RO instead of mixing with tap water since there will still be minerals in the water as i'm not using DI?

    New to Reverse Osmosis

Some sound advide there Ian, much appreciated! Could I get away without re-mineralising and mixing tapwater without using a DI unit on the RO system or do I still need to cut it with tap water/ re-mineralise regardless of having a DI unit or not?
  7. akbar19942k10

    New to Reverse Osmosis

That's exactly what I don't want to do, fork out extra money on minerals and buffers once I've already made a £100-£150 on a RO unit itself. May I ask what ratio of RO to tap water you're mixing to get a rough idea? Btw I forgot to mention my pH is running at 7.8/8.0.

    New to Reverse Osmosis

Hi guys, I'm from London and I'm planning to pick up a RO unit from Osmostic UK for my German Blue Rams and Discus hardscape only setup. I'm currently in limbo as to whether to pick up the 3 stage freshwater unit without the deionising chamber or whether to go for the full monty 4 stage unit...

    HERONS Fish food/tetra prima

Hi, I currently have two Zebra plecos and I picked up some German Blue Rams last Wednesday. I plan to keep rummy nose tetras and Red Turquoise/ Red Scribbled Discus too. I feed my fish 3 times a day with dry food in the morning, frozen brineshrimp in the afternoon and then frozen bloodworms in...

Aquascaper Complete Plant Food vs Easylife Profito

Hi all, I'm planning to setup a high tech planted Dennerle Nano Cube and will be in need of a liquid fertilizer, well at least in the early stages of the tank before I phase it out after introducing fish and transition the tank into a low tech setup. I'll be using fine quartz gravel, the...

    Arcadia T5 LED

I just intend to use the lights purely for aesthetics really and if they support plants growth then that'll be a bonus, but mainly just want some bright white lights. In need of 742mm T5 tubes for my Juwel Vision 180 In regards to the blow out you experienced Arcadia makes separate tubes...

    Arcadia T5 LED

Hi Luke, I've decided to change my mind and opt for a hardscape only discus setup and maybe a couple plants later on once the tank has been established if any...would you say the Arcadia T5 LED lights be fine or shall i just get the basic t5 flourescent tubes? I just can't justify spending...

    Arcadia T5 LED

I still haven't bought them yet as Juwel just released the Helialux LED unit so now i'm in limbo as I don't know what to go with as of yet. I've bought a used T5 unit off Ebay, and i'm thinking of buying the Arcadia T5 tubes and trialing them. If they're not as good as they claim to be i'll...

    Juwel heliolux

Does anyone know if the Helialux unit provides a shimmer to the tank? I just bought the Juwel T5 unit to upgrade the dead T8 unit on my vision 180 an was planning to buy the Arcadia Freshwater T5 LED tubes to fit on it as they claim to provide a shimmer. Now that I've come across the Helialux...

    Arcadia T5 LED

Ahh fair enough, and I'm sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with them, but as you mentioned i'm just going for the bright white light effect with basic growth as i'll be keeping Utricularia Gramnifolia and probably some java fern so I'm still gonna give it shot, however I think i'll be...

    Arcadia T5 LED

Ok, the fact that they don't provide the ripple effect is pretty annoying especially as that was one of the biggest selling points for me, however when you say "they do not perform to a standard!" how do you mean?
  21. akbar19942k10

    Arcadia T5 LED

I doubt that's the case, i'm 100% sure they're brighter than regular T5 tubes. I'm actually convinced about buying two of the freshwater versions for my juwel vision 180 due to the boasts that it provides 5 times more light than the traditional lamp per kilowatt hour. Plus it fits straight into...

    Filter needs for trigon 350

Sell the 2217's and put the money towards a second hand 2260 and fit some taps on it to reduce to desirable flow bearing in mind you're stocking Discus and they don't like too much flow...you'll be saving yourself so much hassel cleaning one 2260 instead of cleaning two seperate 2217's believe...

    Splitting the outlet

I agree not too mention that you'll have an additional hose and lily pipe to clean on top of the cost of a lily pipe which don't come cheap! Get yourself a Hydor koralia nano circulation pump instead, better yet get yourself a second hand one if you can for a fraction of the cost.

Hey Halley, Honestly if you can that is, save yourself the time and money and put it towards getting yourself an Eheim classic external filter. Shrimp in a discus tank?

I've read that Amano shrimps have different temperature requirements and that they cannot tolerate the high temperatures of Discus. Why are ADA Products so expensive?

I do agree with both of you to some extent but it's E.I at the end of the day, its estimated so you can end up with an overpowering or weak mixture and I prefer consistency. With ADA dosages they give you more time between maintenances. But on the other hand ADA had to start somewhere to get...

Why are ADA Products so expensive?

Don't worry you haven't. I understand why you feel 85 pounds is quite expensive for bottles of liquid fertiliser than cheaper E.I dosing methods which is what your probably using and there's nothing wrong with that. But it's this liquid fertiliser that quite a lot if not most of the aquascapers...

Extremely late update on the lily pipe set that I purchased from eBay. The quality and manufacturing is poor, but I guess it's what you'd expect considering how much they're worth. If aesthetics are important to you as they are for me these aren't for you. Here's some pictures to explain why...
