That is a lot!! My 560l used 500g in 4 days with the dc yellow. Uses a bit less now as I've added fish and keep the dc pale green.

Waiting for a rhinox 5000 from Malaysia. I broke the first one. When that arrives the bubbles of co2 going into the filters will be much finer and I should get less build up in the spraybars.

Hairgrass is ok when it is established. When you first add it to the tank you should cut it really short as the leaves it has when you buy it usually rot. It is easiest to cut it in the pot prior to planting. Hairgrass does tend to collect muck and stray bits of moss. It can be pain to keep...

You could try putting the egg crate that is used in koi filters under the substrate and planting through the gaps in it. It might protect the roots a bit help to keep the plants anchored when the cichlids are sifting the sand

Love the tank and the plecos. I really want leopard frogs in my 5ft tank. Glad to see they can co-exist with plants. I wasn't going to have the more delicate high maintenance fg plants as the tank is tall and I'm not but are there any other plants that you'd suggest avoiding with them?
