    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

You see, this is exactly why I started this thread. You say it your self. Over dosing can be problematic. ( I agree ) But why? Why or what are the problems with over dosing Iron. I have found it brings on funny algae's. Is there a level marker we should look at when growing red plants? How...

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

Yes, this is more like it. Thank you Lisa. So, the question remainds. If you dose iron, any of you. How much do you dose and on what grounds do you dose at that rate? At what concertration and daily or weekly amount is good? How do we even know what concerntration are in n any brand of iron? I...

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

Essentially, all we need to know is how much to dose and at what concentration. The reasons for dosing and the effects of it over dosed, or under dosed. Im not really getting anything from the above information. Its getting to complicated.

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

Wow, your all getting way over my head here, not doubt many others too. You science bods loose 90% of people once you start using acronyms and talking techno babble. Is there no normal way of saying how much is enough and how much is too much? I wish a was I as as clever as all that science...

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

Green gain works, it really does.Ive had dormant moss for months, then within days of using green gain, I got tight bright shoots. Its great for getting plants to bud up after a trim too. If you only buy one, buy this one. Phyton Git ( stupid name ) also works. It acts in the same was as...

    Dosing Fe ( Iron ) ?

Hey guys, Got thinking about Iron. Back in the good old days when everything was black and white and people talked funny - What'oh. The only real plant food was Iron for aquatic plants. Things have changed some and I was wondering who doses it and how much is enough or to much. Is it even...

Good EI discussion (split from Paul's 200L journal)

Here is a simple question.... If you could answer this in non science speak, then we all might understand whats going on. If you have perfect Co2, 10x tern over, a rich substrate, good light and ideal ranges of nutrients.... Why, if you remove 30% of your plants would that give you algae? If...

Good EI discussion (split from Paul's 200L journal)

Brilliant. Another leader of EI admitting, its not flawless. Thank you... I have never done the dry ferts thing when dosing tanks, yet, I still to some extent do EI, its a method, not a fertiliser. What has been said is interesting, and im pleased to read it. EI has this reputation of gun...

Good EI discussion (split from Paul's 200L journal)

Re: Paul's 200L, "Punishment of Luxury" Dam strait brother, I'm with ya! Another great post. There needs to be more layman style dosing article.

Good EI discussion (split from Paul's 200L journal)

Re: Paul's 200L, "Punishment of Luxury" Thats the most rounded and honest post you have written about EI that I have seen, Clive. Nice one. Normally people who love EI dont talk about the algae, or the pitfalls, because there are, you mention them your self. ( scrubbing, 3x water changes...

Good EI discussion (split from Paul's 200L journal)

Yep, this, along perhaps with the Co2 issue you had will have done it. In hindsight, what you would of been better doing, is doing a few extra water changes and cutting your ferts down until things grew in again. This is where in my opinion ( controversial im sure ) EI does fall down. ( I dont...

    ADA Green Brighty Special SHADE

Most good fertilisers dosed daily should keep it looking tip top. If you want ADA, then go for the brighty step range. If you want the N and P, then get the ADA special lights, this is ADA's version of N,P and K in a bottle. Its good stuff! Daily dosing is the key. Any browning leaves or...

    Extreme nitrogen deficiency

Well why bother? If your struggling to grow plantys like HC etc and your constantly having problems, why not wipe the slate clean and go back to basics. Buy a bottle of TPN+ and see how you get on. Hang the EI pots up mate.... Some times trying to save a few quid here and there doesnt pay off...

    Extreme nitrogen deficiency

Mate..why dont you try buying some bottled fertiliser, this EI seems to be giving you some serious grief.....is it worth the hassle? Im surprised you stuck at it for so long, but good on your for doing so. :D

    TPN+ or EI?

Interesting debate. I guess Ive been lucky. After winning the PFK aquascaping competition last year and only running smaller tanks, Ive been very happy with TPN range. Maybe if I had to run the costs of a 500lt+ tank, then I might think again. Theres no doubts that both methods or applications...

    TPN+ or EI?

Theres no doubt EI is cheap, but using the Tropica range is relatively faultless, its so easy and it works 100%, no special calculations, or trying to figure out what might be causing your plants this and that problem. If your relatively new to the hobby. I would go with the TPN. Work out the...

    TPN+ or EI?

Ive only every used the TPN range of firts, and have found no need to supplement plant growth with any other products such as PP. I have grown very demanding plants with high requirements with no problems. Save you cash and stick to one or the other. For me its liquid dosing, I like an easy...
