Hello,
can the Chihiro Professional be connected to the TMC Aquaray controller?

Thanks
1 Grobeam 600 over a 40L tank is not enough...I have minimum growth at substrate level and the tank looks poorly lit...I am now aiming to get a 1500 tile!
This is very helpful! Finally some actual PAR readings for the GroBeam 600! Now everything makes sense!
If at 40 cm you get 35 micromols then if I have it at 45 cm above substrate with a glass lid full of condensation in between, then surely I will have less than 35 micromols which does explain...
Purely for educational reasons, I would like to inform anyone else that stumbles upon this thread, that the GroBeam 600 was set at 30% and 50cm from the substrate at the beginning. This caused the plants not to grow and at some point melt. After inspecting all other possibilities I was left with...
Well currently I have the intensity set on 80% with no problems showing. I can't see any melting but the growth rate is very very slow and for some plants near to zero...I will continue to inrease the intensity in 5 day intervals...well its just 2 more stages left and then if still there is no...
So basically you have two of these grobeams at aproximately 50cm above substrate level and at 100%.....Please explain the ramping....4 hours full 100% and 4 hours before as well as 4 hours after from 0% to 100% and then 100% to 0%? So a total of 12 hours?
I found out that the Grobeam 600 gives 61 PARs at 40cm in air!
I am guessing this is full power....now will this be less through water?
Info I found is here in page 26

At the moment I have no problem since the setup is 4 days old so I dont expect to see growth soon. I just dont want my plants to die off....as long as they are alive then I am happy :) then they can grow!
Hello,
I set the light intensity to 30% and the distance from the substrate is 55 cm. Do you think its good for starters or should I lower intensity?
Here are full details of the tank:

Thanks
Don't have it yet....I am trying to decide which of the two but I will also get a controller so height could be anything I want it to be....it will be adjustable just like the intensity through a controller....
Remember the tank is 45cm long
I would like a high tech tank, 45cm x 30cm x 30cm and mostly plants like stayrogen repens amd hemianthous cuba....

So have you used both the Grobeam 600 and the Mini LED 400?
Wouldn't the Grobeam 600 be too long for a 45cm aquarium? I mean its not that it will look bad but light will be falling outside the tank right?
Hi,
Any par readings available would help so as to chose the right setting on the controller. So maybe Par vs distance and the controller % setting would be a good thing to know.
Thanks
So I could go for either the mini 400 or the aquabar...maybe the aquabar would provide better light spread? Since I am getting a controller I could dim my light....which one of the two is the most powerful?

Thanks Martin for the offer however I am looking for something that people already know in here so I could get their advice...
I would like to see which one of the above 3 would be best.
Hello,
just bought a tank 45cm length 29cm width and 30cm depth. It will be a hight tech tank and I am looking for an LED fixture for it. I don't have much experience on the matter so I am looking for something that is more controllable I guess.
1. ADA Aquasky?
2. TMC Ultima 1500 Natural...
Hello,
I want to build an aquarium and I don't know the size yet. I was thinking of going with the GroBeam 600 and decide my tank size from there. The beam's length is 45cm so my aquarium would be 45cm in length and then maybe 30x30 or 30x35 or 35x35 but it all depends if the light would be...
Hello everyone,
I was wondering why the tanks in the aquascaping contests have such high light. For example the tank below:
http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2011/show181.html
It is 21L and has 60W of light!!!!
I would grow algae light mad with that light :)
Do they up the light...
Hello,
what would be a good light to get for an ADA Cube Garden Mini M or Mini L? I don't want to go spend 300 GBP for a Solar Mini M.
How many watts would be adequate for high light requirement plants in such a tank? Ofcourse it would depend on the distance between light source and...
Hello,
I am setting up the following tank:
60 cm height
60 cm length
30 cm width
2 X T5HO 24W Hagen Glo
To grow Eleocharis Parvula with Estimative Index dosing method and pressurized CO2 in a substrate made up of Sera Floredepot capped with innert sand.
Does the light sound good enough...
