Hi guys, I've had a tank maturing for a few months now. It's only 30L but I want to turn it into a heavily planted "Jungle" for shrimp. I have a lot of RCS (40+ they've been breeding very well) and four CRS which I acquired last week. Right now, they're in a 20L tank. I say this is too small...

Regardless of whether they breathe air, I think carbon dioxide is pretty toxic in high amounts.

Yeah Chris sounds like Pond snail eggs. They leave little packages round your tanks, lots of snails come from these. Best to get rid ASAP.

Just saw FrothHelmets Ad. They look pretty good mate, not a bad price too! They do look really natural, and you can keep them with ANY other shrimp apparently and they won't cross breed.

I picked up two Tiger Shrimp today, one was berried hopefully she doesnt drop them. Apparently the next easiest shrimp to breed after RCS. Look pretty cool too. Also Kesgrave Tropicals has a good selection on their eBay shop, at good prices! I was in the owners house today looking at his shrimp...

Thanks for the replies guys, I already had a sponge over my outlet that I made myself from filter sponge, not too fine - but fine enough the shrimp don't go for a spin to Death Mountain/up the inlet for the HOB. :lol: And they all graze on it too. :D I do like those stainless strainer things...

What kind of filters are you guys running on your shrimp only tanks? I accidentally sucked a juvenile shrimp into the impeller on my Azoo HOB today. Felt so bad after it. :( Guess some have to get lost along the way though.. Cheers, Kris
