I'm wanting to dose 0.5mls. So if the bottle pumped 1ml per pump I could just cut the liquid carbon or ferts with 50% RO water?
I can't get my head around these... would they just pump the specified amount (eg 0.5mls) per pump?
Sorry for being a bit of a goon, I did a 'post before I searched' :oops:
Heres an old thread;

Hey everyone.
Was thinking of chickening out of low-tech and dosing liquid carbon which isn't an issue if I'm around in the day but I was trying to find a solution for when I'm not about. I came across this - The Eheim Liquidoser.
Has anyone had experience with this gadget and would it be...
Excellent, thanks for the reassurance. Now wether I manage to remember to do it daily is another matter :lol: Hopefully it'll be OK if its not spot on time everyday.
Thanks Viktor, your advice has always been really helpful to me, I'll stick with the default dosing. They recommend 1ml per 50 litres per day, so I'll up my 0.5ml per week to to 0.5ml per day just to be safe.
p.s cheers for the recommendation on the Eheim 2232...its awesome!
Finally thought I would ask this as I've been looking at a lot of peoples journals who dose EasyCarbo daily. I dose once a week on the water change. I have read however that the C in liquid carbon combines with the O in 24 hours? Is this true? Obviously this would mean my tank is getting...
50% it is! I was going to use a filter from a previous setup and I've also been running the tank emmersed for about 4 weeks so the soil should be cycled as well. I am worried about any trace ammonia however as I've got CRS.
I've just taken advantage of the half price with a very nice ADA...
Thanks for that, it was just an added 'luxury' I thought I may need whilst it was on the cheap. What sort of percentage of water should I go for taking out each time? 50% or would 30% be ok?
The cost isn't much as its only for a nano and I've already got the TPN+
Next week I was planning to flood my currently emmersed setup and was going to just use TPN+, but I saw Aqua Essentials had half price ADA gear and wondered wether Green Brighty Step 1 was a better option for the first couple of months?
Thanks,
Neil
I already have been making use of TPN+ for my old tank but was setting another up. I've been reading that a lot of people use Brighty K in the first month or so after set up. Would this be a better product to use to start out with? Also does it neutralise chloramine as well as chlorine...
