    Advice/ opinions on co2 reactor

I tried this first with the glass diffuser below the intake to the external. But found it to be very noisy and would get large collections of gas forming in the filter, with regular out gassing into the tank. I also found that there didn't seem to be a huge difference in efficiency. However just...

    Advice/ opinions on co2 reactor

Thinking about getting a co2 reactor for my tank and was wondering firstly how these compare to glass diffusers in terms of efficiency and maintenance, and secondly, which one to get. I know there are some slick glass models out there but I think they are a bit out of my price range- looking at...

    What Diffuser

I found that with my diffuser once cleaned and started with no water underneath the ceramic disk the bubbles were evenly distributed over the whole disk. When the co2 was switched off and water seeped through the disk (haven't got a non-return valve- on shopping list  ) the bubbles were...

    Fitted an inline diffuser tonight

So I assume that most of their sales are online :) . Well you're certainly correct that when you buy online you have no idea of the sort of place you're getting it from. So far stuff I've ordered has been mechanical and service has been good but may tend away from stuff that may be affected by...

    Fitted an inline diffuser tonight

Is that professionally or just because they play loud music at night and won't cut their leylandii? Use them for most of my stuff at the moment as they seem to have good prices.

    diffusion problems...

I was quite surprised that more co2 wasn't dissolved even with microbubbles, especially going along about 11/2 meter of tubing before reaching the filter. For me the main concern was the noise and disruption to the tank. I can't imagine the microbubbles having too much effect on the impeller but...

    diffusion problems...

Had a similar problem when I had my co2 going straight into my ex1200 intake. Would get gas build up in the filter causing noise and big discharges every so often. Interestingly when I moved the diffuser under the spray bar so that the bubbles were blown around the tank, I found that the bubble...

co2 regulator and beverage bottle co2

Have heard that they do smaller bottles as I don't think I could fit a 6kg bottle in my cabinet. Hopefully they have 2kg ones and so a proportionately lower fill up charge.

co2 regulator and beverage bottle co2

Live local so plan to drive there and pick up myself. 20 quid deposit which you can get back at the end so, yeah- 27.50 outlay, 7.50 net when I return the bottle in 20 years time. Easier to sell it to the wife that way. :D (The plan that is, not the bottle- before you think I have some weird...

co2 regulator and beverage bottle co2

Does anyone know whether there is a standard connector/ fitting for beverage co2, and if so what is it? Only ask because came across this gas supplier which seems to offer good value refills (local)- http://gascylindersuk.co.uk/store/catal ... p?cPath=22 17.50 for 14lb co2 including postage...

is there a time duration for the noon burst to be effective e.g. more than 4 hours?

    Suitable co2 level

Found a good explanation on the Barr report on EI dosing "I suggest 30ppm of CO2, while a tank with 2 w/gal might be okay with 15-20ppm, many with power compact bulbs and reflectors need to have their CO2 levels higher, 20-30ppm range is optimal for the lighting period. This was found by adding...

    Suitable co2 level

I am unfamiliar with the other examples of plants mentioned but I understand that riccia is a faster growing species. Surely co2 uptake is correlated with growth and so riccia would have higher co2 demands than most plants. The intensity given was said to be similar to a well lit planted...

    Suitable co2 level

Just reading an interesting article on tropica website: Co2 and light stimulate plant growth part 3 http://www.tropica.com/default.asp It looks at the respective effects of co2 and light on plant growth (not suprising). However they did an interesting experiment on growth rates of riccia...

Need some help choosing CO2 system

This might sound stupid, but looking at the picture of the handle of the 500g tank, can't you just stand it upside down and fit the regulator horizontally if it doesnt' fit? It's compressed gas so you should be able to use it any way up.

Need some help choosing CO2 system

was looking at this system as well on eBay, but every time I went to the lunapet shop, everything went german. Although you can see from the pictures what they're selling, always good to read what's going on- does any one know how to access the rest of the shop in English? For all I know it says...

CO2 diffuser with DIY CO2 set up

Been looking at those kind of systems. found this http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.p ... ts_id=1235 which seems to combine the ladder with the diffusion plate. How much do you need to pay attention to the give volumes of use? Only reason thought about that one is that it is not much more...

CO2 diffuser with DIY CO2 set up

What is the best/easiest/ cheapest way of getting co2 into the water with a DIY set up. Just set it up with and airstone on the end so bubbling away nicely but probably not v. efficient. Saw this article: http://www.aquatic-eden.com/2006/10/met ... arium.html This would suggest putting the...
