Not sure about plywood over here, but in the US it's a pretty cheap building material (anything from $15-$50 a sheet depending on thickness/quality). Great idea though :) I like the stand, though I'd of painted the outside white/light grey I reckon!

If I remember correctly it's copper pipe bent using a pipe bender, then spray painted and lacquered. Relatively easy if you have/know someone with a pipe bender :)

Good ol' suction. Take the tubing off the outlet and suck to get the syphon going. Or, I think you can buy a syphon bulb that you put in-line with the outlet tube, which you can squeeze to start pumping water manually (similar to on one of those plastic syphon tubes)

I've done this on a 204 and 205. Just used standard silicone hose. I've used eheim and non-name for this in the past. You will have to replace the inlet/outlet as well, as the Fluval ones aren't designed for silicone hosing.

I think that hydor would fit into a medium HOB filter quite nicely :)

You can achieve a reasonable light unit using strips of plastic guttering and mounting tubes inside them. It can be cut to length easily with a hacksaw, and you can buy nice end pieces to leave it all looking tidy :) Not sure how many tubes you'd fit into a section, maybe 2? Other than this...

Really, you need to swap the tubing over from the Fluval ribbed tubing to normal silicone hose. I think you would have issues getting a good seel with the ribbed/rubber ends. I've done this on a 204 with no issues. You'll need 16/22mm hosing as a replacement. Then you can use 17mm lily pipes :)

Cheap marina traps use a thin strip of pliable metal which you bend over the rim of your hood to the required shape. Seems to work reasonably well :)

The tweezers look quite a good shape, like the ADA pinset style. The scissors usually suffer quality on the cheaper sets, but they'll be good enough :) I'd say they're worth a punt at $30.

I have a 300w on a 150 litre with no issues (so far!) :) Just be careful of the adjuster dial. Several members have found it easy to knock the dial and cause their tanks to over heat, and lost livestock due to this :( A strip of tape to keep it in place, even if knocked does the trick :)

Not sure you would get a lot from the heat mat. It's infrared I believe. Also, when its attached to the tank, it might be difficult to remove (I have one on a tiny tank and can't get it off without destroying the heat mat).

You might be able to rig up a downsizing fitment. You can get hose step down connectors from 16mm to 12mm.
