Re: 120 x 55 x 55 @ 7 weeks and a Canon 550d
This happened to my 5D classic while on a big shoot last year - Phoned Canon and it's an extended warranty repair so they did it for free. Lucky I had my 450D with me. But yes, the mirror literally fell out. No bangs or drops. There's a problem...
Re: Tom's Bucket O' Mud - Video! (page 15)
Brilliant video, and some great fish. Makes me want another jungle scape to just concentrate on certain fish, rather than scaping!
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi - Fly above the giant c
I'll stop checking CAU until the party then!! Have been wondering when they would update their galleries.
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi
That HC looks like a layer of fluorescent filter foam! Love it! I like the way you've trimmed it around the rocks too.
Re: New journal, coming soon!
That's a good point. How much room have you got at the back for planting? My mistake in the Mini M was too big a foreground, and only leaving enough room for 1 row of stems which doesn't allow much bushyness.
I want to get an adapter for my FD 135 2.8 to fit...
Re: New journal, coming soon!
Very nice - are you sticking with the stems plan, or going for the proper low-growers look?
How much of a substrate slope do you have? In the photo it looks quite a flat, but it looks good like that.
Re: New journal, coming soon!
I've got some Hydro. sibthorpioides on the go in an old Bonsai pot in plain soil (but very moist). It's started putting out new leaves now, and looks like it will start growing really well :) I've not had as much success with the mosses though - so far for me, BGA...
Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution - T8 lighting experiment
George, are you making a note of the spectrum of each type of lighting you try as well as the type/intensity?
Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution - T8 lighting experiment
You need to clean your inlet George  Have you got any plans for shaping the stems? Sorry if I've missed an earlier post.
Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution - T8 lighting experiment
Yes I wouldn't take their planted advice as absolute fact any more! They made me put a heater cable in that 5x2x2 you saw as well
Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution - T8 lighting experiment
At Sparsholt we were always told red pigmentation was from having lots of light, and that it was the plant's way of blocking some...... And that they were 'actually' having to add N to a planted tank because there were so many plants...
Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution
I want sand that clean!!
It's a completely new look now these other plants are in, I like it :D Crypts are looking great!

Re: [IWAGUMI] Scree Evolution
Looking good as always. I'm interested to see how the tenellus and hairgrass get on, or whether one will try and dominate the other. How tall are you planning to keep the stems? Just coming over the top?
Have fun in Germany!!
There are several Amano "final" photos, paticularly pre-2000ish that I don't like at all, and if I was him with that ability, I wouldn't have published.
I'll agree with you there Garuf - there are many great scapes on CAU for example, but there are very few with those little fine details that I can go back to and see something different every time. For me, many of Cliff Hui's tank images I could hang on my wall and sit in front of all day...
Re: "Prairie Lands"... trim of a life time
I didn't realise you could trim the foreground like that - from my experience it just dies, but obviously not!! Is that tenellus all the way to the front now, or still Lilaeopsis? (I think I'm right there was some at the start?!)
Tom
Re: "Prairie Lands"... after trim
I really wasn't sure about this at first, but looking at this latest few shots it's showing real quality :) The Crypts really add the detail nicely too :D Shows how much "vision" I've got :p
Re: "Prairie Lands"... blue or white?
We've got a rock shop down the road with stuff for landscaping. Got some great welsh and cornish stuff. I did my 4' Malawi tank for £20. You buy it by the hundredweight :) Trouble is, there are very few nano pieces!
