Great news, saw my first baby last night. It was approx 3mm long! Also I think one of the females is pregnant again. Been letting algae form on the side glass and rocks which should give a steady food source. Thanks for looking Andyh

Hello I use Tropica ferts, easycarbo (when needed) CO2 on solenoid and ahve nice healthy CRS and other shrimp. The main thing with shrimps is stability and good mature tanks! Andyh

I use aquasoil with my CRS and have to admit always have done, you could always add some wood as this can quite often help soften the water.

in my 60l i kept cherries and amano shrimp and dosed x3 the recommended dose daily with no problems. I would gradually build it up, and keep an eye on your livestock Easycarbo is not a nice chemical but does a great job!

Both me and my dad have both used amazonia in our CRS tanks and we have both had breeding success. I also would add I haven't replaced the substrate after a yr? Still going strong in a second tank. Andy p.s and i know you will most likely know this paulo, but make sure the amazonia has well...

Hey Chilled They all eat very similar things: I feed my Amano, Cherries and Crystal Reds a mixture of the following Hikari - Algae Wafers JBL - Spirulina JBL - Algae Tabs Couple of Specialist Shrimp feeds Hikari - Shrimp Cuisine JBL - Novo Prawn and cucumber ! Hope that helps :thumbup:

Paulo Yes i have, just this morning i counted some more CRS babies about 2mm! They don't breed as quick as cherries and have to be settled into their surroundings b4 they think about it. A

Garuf is right true orange shrimps require brackish to breed so would be ideal. I believe they are Caridina sp not a neocaridiana (like cherries). They are fairly cheap too.

Hello They are not leeches, they are Paramecium. They feed on bacteria, algae and the decaying matter in your tank. If you had fish they would get eaten, as most of the time the wouldn't leave the safety of the gravel. borrowed this image:

if you worried Put it in a bowl next to the tank and over 30 mins add small amounts of tank water via piece of airline etc. Then place in your tank the right way up should be fine. Andy

Shrimps will be happier with really fine grain gravel or sand, they like to root around. Also be aware that they are sensitive to all manner of chemicals. I personally wouldn't use cat litter as you never know what your getting were as a small bag of sand from early learning would be ideal and...

Ada aquasoil is great, used it in a number of different setups and the results have been amazing! Plus if you have mature media in your filter the ammonia ain't that much of a problem.
