    Dirty Leaves!

Thanks for that, My CO2 is 30ppm and I have checked it in numerous positions throughout the aquarium. It is delivered via a AquaMedic CO2 Reactor. My fert dosing is TPN+. 50ml day. Aquarium is 400L. Lighting is 300w MH. Therefore 3.37WPG to be more precise. Circulation is 4200LPH. MMmm. GSA...

    Dirty Leaves!

Hi, My C. Parva leaves have become very 'dirty' looking but the 'dirt' will not come off easily! Any ideas? My water flow is good (approx 10 times per hour), Water column is clear with hardly any suspended particles (that I can see), co2 is 30ppm, lighting is 2 x 150w MH (approx 3.5wpg) All...

    HC going brown

Ah I see about drop checkers being better than ph controller now. That makes sense.Cheers Yes the PAR meter is great fun. But you end up constantly fiddling with the lights to get it how you want. Not a bad thing but a few hours pass without notice. Dave

    HC going brown

Ok, So whack up co2. Will do. Increase fertiliser. Will do. Cheers New to this planted aquarium hobby. Come from a marine background where things are done very slowly. So all advice appreciated. By the way a ph controller is not a particular accurate way of measuring co2. Cannot the same be...

    HC going brown

Thanks for the reply, Was thinking of increasing the co2 by decreasing the Ph to 6.4 and see how that goes for a day. At 6.4 the Co2 in theory should be approx 20ppm and if the drop checker indicates it lower it again in 24hrs. Say to 6.3 to get a theoretical CO2 of approx 25.5ppm! Taking alot...

Hi, Looking for some advice. Planted and filled my tank last friday (at last!). Decided to do it all in one go. I have planted in total 74 tropica plants (35 HC, 24 V. Nana & 15 E. Parvula). Since then I have been doing 50% water changes every other day. But there has appeared a few patches...

    Planting scheme

Cheers Tony, Thanks for that. Will add it to my list of possible plants. Well I just thinking how much area would one pot of HC cover then I could work out roughly how much for the whole thing. It is going to be alot! I am prepared for the quantity! Also how many individual plants would you get...

    Planting scheme

PS: Forgot to ask. I plan on using Tropica plants. If buying the standard sizes how big an area would one pot of each of the three plants shown in the picture cover? Cheers again Dave

    Planting scheme

Hi, Following on from my scaping thread I am also trying to work out my planting. This is what I have so far. The tall rock on the right will be sloping to the left once I have stuck the three pieces together! Right the background I want is Vallisneria Nana grown right up to water surface...
