i agree with ceg4048 arc pods are nice and not to expensive, there is also an 11w if you want slightly higher light. i used an 11w on my 20l and it was great.

i have a 60L tank which is around 15 US gal and an arcadia T8 2x15w tubes which i is around 2WPG would this be classed as high light and would it be enough for Rotala rotundifolia to turn a bit red? Cheers

it has some small loops on the top which allow it to be suspended.

The tubes are 600mm tubes. There is quite a lot of adjustment in the clamps i would say it will fit 10mm glass with no problems. the glass on a tank this size is normaly around 8mm so there shouldnt be a problem. I have decided to reduce the light output a little and have disconnected one of...

I think if money was no object i would have one, but I am a student so I just cant justify spending that much on a light. If I could aford it i would always buy one they do look beter but you have to pay for the better look!!

i was looking at them too, jst couldnt bring myself to spend that much on a light, when i got a custom made aquarium from aquariums ltd for £350. i got a hagen t5ho, have a look at my review of it further down you could but 5 of these for that price!! :lol: :crazy:

My Hagen T5HO light unit just arrived, do you know if a normal (not hagen) bulb will fit. hagen say it is a 550mm 22'' bulb. and http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Bulbs-Tubes/860-and-865-Daylight_11/T5-24-Watt-865-Philips is a 549mm tube. what do you think?

A lot of people are moveing towards Halide lights now you can move the light higher above the tank to reduce the intencity. i would go with this if i was you. :D

i am stuck with my budget to what i can find 2nd hand on ebay, i have just found a hagen glo 2x 24W T5 unit

well i have a choise of a MH 150W or a 2x15W T8 light unit

would a 150W metal hali be a bit too much for a 60L tank? it will be suspended about a foot above the tank.

I like the look of both of these set ups, the boss may not!! will have to wait and see what she says!! or just make one before she gets home :shifty:

i was going to get a blue or white background on the tank to hide the pipework. will have to see if the light gets the aproval from the Mrs first if not i will need to buy a 60cm light for the planted tank and use this light on my other tank.

Thnaks Dan that looks good the only problem is my light is wider than the tank and unit, i might make up some L shape brackets and put them down the back of the tank.

Can anyone reccomend something i can use to hang my luminaire above my tank. I am not allowed to put holes in the wall or cealing so it needs to be atachable to the tank or the unit. if there isnt anything i will have to make one.

the Aqua One unit is plenty good enough to grow any plant you want. i am only changing my light so i can hang it above the tank. i would save the money and spend it on a filter (if you dont have one)
