Rummy nose tetras, Hemigrammus rhodostomus are great shoaling fish and shouldn't bother your shrimp they are very prone to getting 'ich' on the first week of being introduced to your tank but it should clear up quick quickly, just make sure you have good water quality.
Neon Tetras, Cardinal tetras, Rummy Nose Tetras most tetras should leave them but the only real non threatening fish to any shrimp is an Otocinclus others it depends on there character and personality of the fish.
They will try and grab the shrimps, there was a post on here about a few gouramies ( cant remember what ones ) that were ripping apart adult shrimp, just a heads up. As long as there is a lot of hiding places for the shrimp your colony should be fine and the gouramies should only pick off the...
Thanks Darrel, i was thinking about doing CPDs, there are many journals on the internet about people getting 180 fry per spawn so they seem fairly easy.
Hey UKAPS people
Okay, so i've decided i'd like to start breeding something other than shrimp
What would you rather i started breeding
CPDs(Celestial Pearl Danio) or GBRs(German Blue Rams)?
I've been doing a bit of research and they both sound quite easy to breed if the water parameters are...
http://www.celestialpearldanio.com/foru ... .php?t=855 if you scroll down a bit until you see a post by 'Monica' you will see how easy it is, that is if you want to try and keep them that is!
Just to let you know, i've been doing a lot of research on cichlids, i might be 15 but all the knowledge about fish gets stuck in my head (shame its not the same with school) and im actually quite good at naming these cichlids.
oh its a julidochromis dickfeldi. ;)
I should be getting one for free if they get 'jiggy' just because it took me so long to even attempt to get it haha, the only pleco/catfish i've ever had was an upside down catfish.
Post pictures of your fish you want to stump UKAPS members or post pictures of fish you have no idea what it is for people to ID.
First person to guess the fish correct gets to choose the next fish.
Ill start off.
Is there copper in the meds? If so do NOT add it to a shrimp tank. It will kill everything, copper to shrimp is like drinking some fluorosulfuric acid.
if you have an air stone lying about i would definitely put it in there, It may just be stress aswell, how did it look in the tank at the not so local fish shop?
