Thats awesome, that look pucker, what filteration do you have noticed little water movement, so assume a HOB? read that they can take 215ppm TDS and up to 7.5 ph, which is pretty decent for tap water really.

yeah, if I get Otos, they wont be in with Shrimp to begin with, just a fish only at min. My shrimp tank sits at 400-420 tds but that is supposed to be ok as long as I am under 500. RCS mind not CRS.

Mine may have been imported cant say really, got mine from wholesale tropicals some 3 yrs ago, but I bought them as I had an algae issue, diatoms too, which apparently Ottos love, kill two birds with one stone I thought did add cucumber and pellets too (for cories), so dont think they sttarved...

I dont think its anything to do with co2, just that they prefer softer/acidic conditions i beleive. Otos that is, And are very sensitive to water conditions. So a stable environmment is paramount to all. I think if the water was right, co2 or not, you would be fine. I failed with a pair I had...

I was indeed looking at Neolamprologus multifasciatus. I was planning on keeping it in a 27l P@H tank that was listed on here in another thread. I would be happy with a pair, or 3. Pair, with maybe a pair of dwarf puffers. Vallis sounds good, maybe floating Riccia. Not sure what I can keep...

Anyone keep them? Do they feet well with planted aquaria, as they are knwon to dig up sand. Also whats the smallest tank I could get away with to keep a pair or three in.

when I got my first batch somewhat 8 years ago, they were all beutiful, colourful, and so on, I havent bought a guppy since, lost loads, but they keep their populations up and maintain numbers themselves. They all are brown now bar a few pale ones :shock:

i did mention non fussy as in guppies, as a good trait.

Aint they harder to keep?

Colourful, pretty, easy to breed, small, non fussy fish. Can you get better?

Whats wrong with guppies, i have guppies, they rock. Runs for cover.
