Well, surely if you wanted to buy them, that is the last thing you would want to do. However there is a rule about livestock not allowed on ebay

    Breeding l046

I would love the red bn, I have 2 large adults males 4" BN and a medium female 2.5" but alas no joy on the breeding front. I have slate caves, which they do enter, but dont fit 100%, could that be the issue? Would love to breed them.

    Indostomus paradoxus

Thats awesome, that look pucker, what filteration do you have noticed little water movement, so assume a HOB? read that they can take 215ppm TDS and up to 7.5 ph, which is pretty decent for tap water really.

    Unexplained fish deaths

Nice one bud, I think I am going to switch to rain water along with an external Ex400 filter. And go heavily planted high tech. Hopefully they will be happier. I have one left (cory) at the min, all on their own :( , will only get more till after I make the switch now me thinks

    Unexplained fish deaths

Nope, not started yet, I have lost a trio of Rasbora Hengeli from the tank when I first set it up (2-3 months ago now), and this triggered me to plan for or to sort rain water as a softwater alternative (thinking it was tap water that was the issue) for them and with tanins lower the PH too. I...

    Unexplained fish deaths

I did check this, and one that died yesterday was very plump looked well fed, and when I fed the night before it looked happy and searching for food (I found they never stop searching for food, which to me indicates happyness/comfort) but on weekend, the fish that dies then just didnt move, just...

    Unexplained fish deaths

It could be, when I did a water change debri did get sturred up (it does with most water changes tbh), but a ammonia test (for what its worth) showed 0 still. Cattapa could be a possibility, but not sure, as it was the bags (tea bag styles ones) hard to wash and the likes. Designed for aquarium...

    Unexplained fish deaths

Nope, no ferts, no co2. Portions of mosses, and java fern. Not much light either, introduced plants to sap up nitrates and ammonia, that I did show readings of about a month or few weeks back. And they have helped as since then, all readings including nitrates are low, 0 for others. Hence I...

    Unexplained fish deaths

Came home today to find a dwarf cory dead in my tank, lossed one on weekend. I tested water then Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5ppm. Ph 7.5, temp 23-24'c, 400 TDS. Gutted. Same result again today. It looked well yesterday. I have 2 guppy fry which are growing fast and looking healthy, along...

Sorry mate, Cherry Shrimp indeed so RCS not CRS, man, TGI Friday.
  18. S

    In praise of Oto's

yeah, if I get Otos, they wont be in with Shrimp to begin with, just a fish only at min. My shrimp tank sits at 400-420 tds but that is supposed to be ok as long as I am under 500. RCS mind not CRS.
  19. S

    In praise of Oto's

I think when I had them many moons ago the TDS would have been 600 I reckon, based on the rocks and stuff I had, out the tap its 350 with declorinator its up to 400-450. Guppies are fine in it, which is all I have, albino and pepeered corys no probs, Ancistrus nearly 4-5yrs old now I think in...

    In praise of Oto's

Is a non co2 tank suitable for otos & shrimps?

Mine may have been imported cant say really, got mine from wholesale tropicals some 3 yrs ago, but I bought them as I had an algae issue, diatoms too, which apparently Ottos love, kill two birds with one stone I thought did add cucumber and pellets too (for cories), so dont think they sttarved...

Is a non co2 tank suitable for otos & shrimps?

I dont think its anything to do with co2, just that they prefer softer/acidic conditions i beleive. Otos that is, And are very sensitive to water conditions. So a stable environmment is paramount to all. I think if the water was right, co2 or not, you would be fine. I failed with a pair I had...

Advice on P@H 25 ltr Stocking

Someone local was breaking their tank, as they were moving, and had 6 Trigonostigma hengeli (Glowlight Rasbora) so for small penies I took them off his hand, and looks like they will have a new home in my nano. They seem very hardy. Never thought of such, but they are lovely, and got fond of...

Advice on P@H 25 ltr Stocking

Re: Advice on P@H 29 ltr Stocking Yeah, its a small tank, hence didnt want to go for medium or large fish, multi's being the smallest I could think of hence. Not much bigger the Neolamprologus brevis, maybe an inch, and it does seem a pair work well in small tanks. hmmmmm

Advice on P@H 25 ltr Stocking

Re: Advice on P@H 29 ltr Stocking Indeed read that thread with eager. Following on from there I got the cat litter :) Didnt think to use the substrate as a PH adjuster. Still have my main tank, but whilst in P@H, spontaniously bought one (cube) a week back. woops. Fancied something...

Advice on P@H 25 ltr Stocking

Advice on P@H 25 ltr Stocking

Just setting up a planted tank, now the issue is my water is hard ish, I have successfully over the years, keep Peppered, Bronze and Albino Corys, Ancistrus, and Guppies, a gold barb (Gold Barb or Schuberti barb) which I inherited along with a Gourami. I think I had the Gourami for a few years...

Are they not much bigger, I was going by size really, assuming multi's would be better suited for a smaller tank.

    lake tanganyika shell dwellers

I was indeed looking at Neolamprologus multifasciatus. I was planning on keeping it in a 27l P@H tank that was listed on here in another thread. I would be happy with a pair, or 3. Pair, with maybe a pair of dwarf puffers. Vallis sounds good, maybe floating Riccia. Not sure what I can keep...

Anyone keep them? Do they feet well with planted aquaria, as they are knwon to dig up sand. Also whats the smallest tank I could get away with to keep a pair or three in.
