    Clean your Co2 diffuser

Bleach will kill algae too and is cheaper/easier to buy than H2O, for me anyway. Bleach is like 30p for 2 litres, H202 a couple of £ for a few hundred ml - the same price as a cheap eBay diffuser. If your stuck with just one diffuser, your method seems nice and efficient. If you have two...

    Clean your Co2 diffuser

I just soak in Tesco value thin bleach until clean (less than 24hours) then soak in water heavily treated with dechlorinator. I would always have a spare diffuser so I could immediately swap out for a clean one. Is there any reason to use H2O2 or bake? Unfamiliar with this method, seems like...

    LIQUID CO2 WARNING by JBL

It's the effects of frequent doing that could potentially accumulate, no the actual chemical itself. The negative effect on our fish may be so small it's negligible in the short-term, but who knows what long-term effects it could have? As explained there is no need to answer rhetoric questions ;).

    LIQUID CO2 WARNING by JBL

Yup, when I discovered what it Seachem Excel actually was and what it was used for, I decided it wasn't a chemical that was worth adding to my tanks. I like my fish and inverts more than I dislike algae.

    Co2 regulators off eBay :/

Looks fine but really inst much cheaper than well-known reliable brands like CO2 Art or CO2 Supermarket. If I were you I would spend an extra £5 for a regulator from one of the sponsors. Less likely to go wrong and you get great customer support even if it does. So much peace of mind and extra...

    CO2 regulator

It does sound like you just need a replacement gauge, maybe this one had a very bad knock during shipping. CO2 Art are great though IME and should help you swap it :)

    Contemplating CO2

This has been written about and discussed extensively on these forums and comes up all the time. Most people seriously misunderstand what pH is and how important it is in different contexts. A pH crash is not necessarily a bad thing, in a fish-only system it could indicate something else bad...

    Fluval 88g co2 help needed!

Nothing to worry about then, just limescale type stuff :).

    Fluval 88g co2 help needed!

Is it on the inside or outside of the tubing, and is it only on the tubing below the water line? Are you using a proper CO2 check-valve on the tubing? It's probably just essentially like a limescale buildup and not detrimental, but could you maybe take a pic?

    Is this FE ok?

Still haven't got mine. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Got through to them on the phone over a week ago and was told a replacement would be sent out the next day... Since then they haven't answered any calls or emails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I ordered an FE from that ebay seller yesterday too lol.

    Setting up Co2

Once plants start growing and reducing flow, certainly not IMO. Juwel internal filters have a very slow flow rate, not ideal for planted tanks. A general guideline to ensure you have enough flow is to aim for 10x the tanks volume per hour of flow rate. You would be best to add an additional...

    Wood airstones for Yeast CO2?

"Three-fingers - that sounds very encouraging! Do you know if Sander size 1 or 2 fits a standard air tube?" Both sizes fit the standard tubing :). I like the air stones as they don't need as much pressure to work, create smaller bubbles, plus I can use less yeast at start-up then be lazy and...

    Wood airstones for Yeast CO2?

I find them excellent, and produce much finer bubbles than my ceramic diffusers. Though bubble size is more inconsistent, and some brands are better than others. Sander ones seem good. The wood expands with water over time, which results in bigger bubbles. This is remedied by drying the air...

Yeast-based CO2 DIY mix using Nutrafin kit

Sounds like it would be too much CO2 tbh, but really its impossible to judge when talking about using yeast for CO2. If you don't have any fish, you could try attaching one to your tank and see how it goes, measuring using a drop checker over the brew. Depending on what your making, the CO2...

will any tubing do for co2

Our tanks contain water not CO2. The two compounds have different chemical properties and thus interact with silicone differently :).

Machine Mart do 600g will they fit?

If it takes disposable bottles, then yes, I use the same 600g bottle with my (not lunapet) regulator.

    AQUAMEDIC SOLENOID VALVE

My Lunapet has 3 pins... LondonDragon must be using a different solenoid? Or do some come with 2 pins?

    AQUAMEDIC SOLENOID VALVE

Isn't that fairly dangerous not having the earth? I just bought a £4 adaptor for my Lunapet solenoid, much neater and safe.
