Thanks for the responses guys.. as a back up during dsm i had planted some patches of HC.. and that is the foreground now -

Strange thing with hc is that it sits dormant for 2 weeks and then explodes..
Now pearls a lot -

I had added Rotal sp H’ra Vietnam as a nitrate absorber, it seems to like the conditions -

I did not intend to keep stem plants to avoid maintenance, but now in two minds..

I probably come off as a blahblahblahblah saying this, but I find HC incredibly easy (at least if ample CO2 is provided). I have some growing in my 'secret' tank, no co2, a 5w led, extreme algae etc. Although not worth showing off, I am amazed it stayed alive and even grown.

Hc is a weed..! But to make it look good you do need good co2 and flow to disperse co2.. i see that lighting makes not much difference to its growth..
