Is there a problem with using marinewhite 14000k tubes on a planted
tank?
Would this colour induce algal blooms?
Only thought about this as my tank is 30 inches deep and thought
the brighter light would penetrate better.
All coments greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
matt

Nope no problem in terms of plants growing under them, the only issue is whether you are happy with the look of a 14000k tube.

The 30 inch thing is not really an issue with T5 combined with reflectors. I would not go for 14000k for that reason alone. I am setting up a tank that is 28" deep and will be suspending t5 above that anwhere from 6" to 12" above that.

Thanks for the quick reply sanj
I had already bought the lamp before seeing the cheap lights thread
so will soon be ordering a skywhite 880 for the tank
just needed to know that it wouldn't induce algal blooms
thanks again
